The signals coming from the Constitutional Court are not very reassuring for justice and freedom in Gabon. It seems Marie Madeleine Mborantsuo wants to give her verdict as soon as this weekend, without the deliberation process having been the transparent process that all parties supporting freedom demanded. We had already said it: Mborantsuo cannot act according to the law; it's too much to ask of her.

In preparation for the endorsement of the coup, Ali Bongo is sending emissaries in popular neighborhoods, bank notes in hand, asking people to remain calm after the announcement by Mborantsuo. We also note that in Libreville and the provinces the military presence is still stalinian.

Les signaux en provenance de la Cour Constitutionnelle ne sont pas très rassurants pour la justice et la liberté au Gabon. Il semblerait que Marie Madeleine Mborantsuo veuille rendre son verdict dès ce week-end, sans que la procédure de délibération n’ait été l’opération transparente que toutes les parties supportant la liberté demandaient. Nous vous l’avions déjà dit : Mborantsuo ne saurait dire le droit ; c’est trop lui en demander.

En préparation à l’entérinement de ce coup de force, Ali Bongo envoie des émissaires dans les quartiers populaires, billets de banque en main, demandant aux populations de rester calme après l’annonce de Mborantsuo. On remarque aussi dans Libreville et les provinces que le dispositif militaire est plus stalinien encore.
