PROPHETIC, THE JOURNALIST VINCENT HUGEUX HAD IT RIGHT, THE BIG CHANCERIES ARE PUTTING ALI BONGO BACK IN THE SADDLE. PROPHÉTIQUE, LE JOURNALISTE VINCENT HUGEUX AVAIT VU JUSTE, LES GRANDES CHANCELLERIES REMETTENT ALI BONGO EN SELLE

English version

If the US ambassador and the UN representative are keeping a rather low profile at the moment, certainly embarrassed by the turn of events in Gabon which forces them to compromise with a regime universally recognized as illegitimate in the eyes of its people; the French Ambassador and the Representative of the European Union are not bothered by such principles. They just gone to tell Ali Bongo directly that for them, he is legitimate and they even pushed the envelope by stating to the press that they congratulated him for his "re-election". Yes, dear readers, you read that right, the Frencg Ambassador and the Representative of the European Union now think that Ali Bongo was "re-elected".

On the economic front, the situation is the same; because knowing that the coffers of the State of Gabon are empty and that Ali Bongo has a need of fresh cash to keep the holding of the African Cup of Nations in Gabon, the oil company Total has decided to come to Ali Bongo’s rescue by becoming the main sponsor of the ACN. In other words, it's Total which is going to pay the bill for the ACN, and Ali Bongo will repay them certainly by a very special arrangement.

Dear readers, here is the picture before us: between a people that clearly and democratically expressed itself, and a tyrant who stole people’s votes, then brutalized and killed them; the major chanceries have chosen that tyranny continues to be the daily lot of the Gabonese people.

The lesson for us is that we are all alone, and those who are sending us to dialogue with Ali Bongo, send us an approach which favors the finality of what they have already committed. It's the old pattern of negotiations which should lead to a power sharing agreement; the lion's share to the Bongos and crumbs to others, as usual. But we say no; Ali Bongo has lost, he has to go, period!

Dear readers, we must be even stronger and determined so that we could get our freedom, despite the wishes of the great chanceries. We are alone and have neither friends nor allies, nor sympathizers. The sooner we understand this, the sooner we will take steps at our individual levels, that might deliver us from this evil that has been chokings us for 50 years.

It is Vincent Hugeux who wrote a prophetic article in L'Express, even before the crisis mounted, saying that the French Government would make empty statements to alleviate the sense of outrage of the opinion before fraud he called a "sketch" by Ali Bongo; but in the end that France would validate the continuation of the one who embodies its system in Africa, before an opposition that offers them uncertainties. Vincent Hugeux was better informed than anyone else and his prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes.

For us it is about not letting go and to demonstrate our endurance for our objective of liberation.

  1. Ha ha ha, for me the moment JP went to the Cour Constitutionelle it was all down the drain....its was in a way accepting that Cour Constitutionelle in Gabon is somehow legitimate.

    Anyways thats spilt milk.

I frankly feel that a formal complaint should also be lodged at the ICC against all these countries that are accepting Bongo's re-election... but accepting him in-spite of the International Observators from the EU saying there is an anomaly and in-spite of the International Observators saying that the Cour Constitionelle does not in any way remove the anomaly or shed light or clarify the anomaly....does it not mean that they are in a way accepting someone whose election is doubted by their own observators ? Does it not mean that these governments are in a way supporting a regime that has committed crime against its own citizens ?

Man, I am not a specialist. But the way JP is handling all this too does not look all that great...I have a strong feeling from now on JP will be only protesting on paper and words, he will not do anything more....so basically it will be 2009, when Ali was proclaimed winner by the CC and then AMO protested while Ali sat in the presidency.

How unfortunate the poor Gabonese who trusted all these politicians and have now lost their lives for nothing

With all the riots and murders, it should have been enough to have a Gabonese Spring here...but all that momentum has been lost.

  2. The only way is to somehow get the people to the street (without them getting killed by Bongo) and protesting.
JP should organise a mass rally starting from his QG and walk with the people all the way to the Palace or say to the Cour Constitionelle.

We got to see the results bureau by bureau !!!

  3. I have said it before and I will say it again, in the African context, you need a military option to have any chance of success. The western countries know that JP has no military muscle, so he can only do what they want.
