WHY IS THE DEBATE ABOUT THE MEDICAL EXAMINATION OF ALI BONGO IMPORTANT? POURQUOI LE DÉBAT SUR L’EXAMEN MÉDICALE D’ALI BONGO EST IMPORTANT ?

English version

Dear readers, before any presidential election, candidates are required to undergo a medical examination; Why ?

In Gabon, during the filing process by candidates for the presidential elections, Mborantsuo’s Constitutional Court requires that each candidate undergoes a rigorous medical examination. Without this element, the Constitutional Court does not validate the candidacy.

For Mborantsuo and her court, this medical examination is therefore important because this court believes that the physical, moral, intellectual and psychological health of the candidates is essential to any person serving in the office of President of the Republic. Any candidate who does not meet all the medical requirements for the position of President, could not be validated.

We all know that last October, Ali Bongo suffered a serious health problem. Specifically, he had a stroke. It is obvious to many Gabonese that the individual who is presented to them as able to continue to govern Gabon, is very diminished physically and intellectually.

To clear things up, a group of Gabonese compatriots is requesting that a medical expertise be performed on Ali Bongo. But those in charge of the Gabonese judicial system push the inanity to the point of refusing that this examination takes place. This posture of refusal is strange to us; because for this blog, if the medical examination is considered necessary to be a candidate for the presidency, it cannot be justified that it is no longer important if a president undergoes a serious accident likely to compromise their ability to lead the country. The contradiction is too obvious!

It is obvious that Ali Bongo is weakened, suffering from neurological and motor problems, which could even extend to intellectual problems. The tree has been shaken by our compatriots from Call to Action.

It is unacceptable that Gabon would be governed by proxy by Brice Laccruche-Alihanga and those who gave him this power. If Ali Bongo is able to lead Gabon, a transparent medical examination should be able to establish it.

We will not give up!
