CONFLICTS BETWEEN OIL COMPANIES AND THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE BEFORE THE GABONESE COURTS! LES CONFLITS ENTRE COMPAGNIES PÉTROLIERES ET LEURS SALARIÉS, SONT DEVANT LES TRIBUNAUX GABONAIS!

Image
English version   In Gabon, several oil companies have either closed or significantly reduced their activities in 2020. Many of them are bogged down in conflicts with their former employees; before the Gabonese courts.   The company Global Sourcing And Supply (GSS), which was dissolved at the end of October 2017, and was to close its liquidation within the three-year period provided for by the Ohada law (Organization for the Harmonization in Africa of Business Law), i.e. by 2020, faces ongoing legal proceedings before the court of Port-Gentil. Indeed, its 400 ex-employees would contest the conditions of their dismissal. They are asking for more adequate severance pay.   Likewise, the American company Exterran, which laid off its employees in early 2015, is still working with the court to try to evade payment of the unpaid liabilities claimed by 67 of its former employees. A liability of CFAF 1 billion in total. Despite the findings of the Ministry of Labor, whose insp

English version   There are several effective models of managing a country. While everyone cannot agree on the most diligent way to do this, it can nonetheless be agreed that a country's performance relies heavily on that of its elites and leaders.   If Gabon is failing, it is because its ruling elites are failing; It's as simple as that! For Gabon to come out on top, it needs great leaders.   So, dear readers, what are the qualities of a good leader? Here are some ideas:   1. A good leader places country always before themselves, their personal interest or that of their party 2. A good leaders always relies on facts to make decision, instead of lies and incompetent advisors 3. A good leader always displays fairness and equality no matter the situation 4. A good leader always tries to leave to the next generation a much better country than the one they found 5. A good leader respects the dignity of its people 6. A good leader respects and protect

THE UNDERPINNING OF THE CONTRACT BINDING SOGARA TO AUGUSTA! LES DESSOUS DU CONTRAT QUI LIAIT LA SOGARA À AUGUSTA!

Image
English version   The Gabonese refining company (Sogara) is said to be in full negotiation with the Swiss oil company Augusta, for the renewal of their contract.   Africa Intelligence tells us in its latest issue that the previous contract binding the two entities, which was secret, was abruptly broken by the Gabonese presidency in June.   The conditions of this breach were the cause of formal notices from Augusta which considered that the termination of their contract by Gabon was illegal; and as a result, no other oil company has dared to take over.   Augusta, had been treating atmospheric residue (ATR) since 2017, i.e. the residue from the first crude distillation carried out by SOGARA. ATR is a product sought after by oil traders.   The Gabonese presidency argues that the volumes of ATR on which Sogara was committed in the initial contract, were greater than what the Port-Gentil plant produced. In this contract signed on December 5, 2017, Sogara promised t

SO GOES JUSTICE IN DICTATORSHIP! AINSI VA LA JUSTICE EN DICTATURE!

Image
English version   Magloire Ngambia was Gabon’s Super Minister for Investment Promotion, Transport, Public Works, Housing, Tourism and Planning. All of this simultaneously.   Magloire Ngambia was paid as super minister, 500 million CFA francs monthly.   Despite this huge salary, Magloire Ngambia is accused of having embezzled tens of billions of CFA francs. These charges earned him 44 months of imprisonment, or 3 years and 8 months.   Magloire Ngambia has just been released, on the basis of what looks like a backroom arrangement that will erase everything and simply close the case.   Landry Amiang had criticized the Ali Bongo regime on the internet. He traveled to Gabon and was picked up upon his exit from the plane by regime henchmen on August 12, 2016.   Landry Amiang was imprisoned for 3 years and 4 months, roughly the same length of imprisonment as Magloire Ngambia.   Dear readers, in a normal country, what is happening in the Gabonese judicia

AFRICANS ARE PARTICULAR PEOPLE! LES AFRICAINS SONT DES GENS PARTICULIERS !

Image
English version   Historically, everyone knows that Africa is the best preserved continent in the world. Indeed, African forests remain intact and rich in fauna and flora.   Africa remains populated with all its animals and very few of its species are in extinction.   Conversely, it has been centuries since Europeans and Asians completely destroyed their forests and exterminated their animals.   In the 21st century, however, Africans believe that they must entrust their forests to Europeans and Asians, who are supposed to have better understanding of ecology and conservation than Africans.   Dear readers, why are Africans like this?

English version   Dear readers, it is not with pleasure that we come to declare that after a meticulous examination of the actions of Archbishop Basile Mvé, during all his service as Archbishop of Libreville, that the latter would have been a dedicated accomplice of the Bongo dictatorship , in its persecutions and crimes.   We must understand each other. It is not the Gabonese Catholic Church which is accused of complicity with the dictatorship, but its main archbishop.   We can say without exaggeration that Archbishop Basile Mvé, from the top of his ecclesial hierarchy, systematically ignored the complaints of his faithful about the persecution inflicted on them by the Bongo regime.   Concretely, Archbishop Basile Mvé was nonetheless in 2016, a moral accomplice in the serious violations of human rights by the Bongo regime. These violations were twofold: the first being the theft of the Gabonese people’s vote; and the second being the massacres perpetrated by the
