They came to fill the roads. Old, young, the unemployed, the middle-class, the rich – the ones who had wanted to live the promise of the struggle and who did not want to see their dream crushed by the imposters.

They came to mourn Andre Mba Obame. Up and down the highway, they marched in defiance of the security forces that were threatening to brutalize them.

They came as women, old and young, with clenched fists raised to “say goodbye” to the man whose public appeal had given them hope.

Today, the hypocrisy has resurfaced and everybody is once again selling the aspirations of the people to the highest bidder.

We must be strong and independent in living our struggle, let us display resilience and bravery in the face of the Bongos.

We will not give up!

Ils étaient venus envahir les routes. Vieux, jeunes, chômeurs, bourgeois, riches - ceux qui avaient voulu vivre la promesse du changement et qui ne voulaient pas voir leur rêve écrasé par les imposteurs.

Ils étaient venus pleurer André Mba Obame. Allant et venant sur les routes, ils ont marché au mépris des forces de sécurité qui menaçaient de les brutaliser.

Ils étaient venus, hommes, femmes, jeunes et vieux, levant les poings pour «dire au revoir» à l'homme dont l'appel au changement leur avait donné 'espoir.

Aujourd'hui, l'hypocrisie a refait surface et tout le monde vend de nouveau les aspirations du peuple au plus offrant.

Nous devons être forts et indépendants pour mener notre lutte ; montrons de la résilience et de la bravoure face aux Bongos.

On ne lâche rien !
