Apparently, there were close ties between Sylvia Bongo, her son Noureddin Bongo, and the number one oil company operating in Gabon, Perenco.

 

The Gabonese intelligence services would have information according to which, Perenco under the protection of the Bongo-Valentins, would have engaged in tax evasion, that is to say that this company did not pay taxes or duties on the profits generated by the 120,000 barrels/day it produces in Gabon. At the moment, Noureddin Bongo and the former Minister of Oil, Vincent de Paul Massassa, are reportedly undergoing harsh interrogations on this subject.

 

The investigations focus on an in-depth analysis of the financial flows between Perenco and the Bongo-Valentins. The general manager of Perenco in Gabon, Adrien Broche, is particularly targeted. The CEO of Perenco's parent company in Europe, Benoît de la Fouchardière, is now also very present in Libreville to oversee the evolution of this investigation.

 

For now, Perenco denies all accusations, saying instead that it pays all taxes within the norms. At the moment, the CTRI is talking about a possibility of seizing Perenco's assets.

Les services de renseignements Gabonais auraient des informations selon lesquels, Perenco sous la protection des Bongo-Valentins, se serait livre a de l'évasion fiscale, c’est-à-dire que cette compagnie de payait pas d'impôts ni taxes sur les profits générés par les 120 000 barils/jour qu'elle produit au Gabon. En ce moment, Noureddin Bongo et l'ancien ministre du Pétrole, Vincent de Paul Massassa, seraient en train de subir des interrogatoires musclés à ce sujet.

 

Les enquêtes portent sur une profonde analyse des flux financiers entre Perenco et les Bongo-Valentin. Le directeur général de Perenco au Gabon, Adrien Broche, est particulièrement visé. Le PDG de la maison-mère de Perenco en Europe, Benoît de la Fouchardière, est dorénavant aussi très présent à Libreville pour superviser l’évolution de ce dossier.

 

Pour l’instant, Perenco nie toutes les accusations, affirmant au contraire de payer tous les impôts dans les normes. En ce moment, le CTRI parle d’une possibilité de saisie des actifs de Perenco.
