The military now rules Gabon. They are in power. So, they are responsible for everything that happens in Gabon, especially when it comes to the security of the Gabonese people. Therefore, they are the ones who are responsible and have to solve the problem of the murderous blunders that are occurring in recent times, and are caused by the military.

 

Gabon is literally under military occupation. Therefore, the protection of civilians is an imperative for the Transition’s regime. Paradoxically, however, there have been incidents of unprecedented violence, in which soldiers have killed compatriots. The reaction of the Transition’s regime is circumspect and disappointing on this subject, to say the least.

 

These killings of civilians by the military must stop. Genuine investigations must establish responsibility and action plans must be put in place to minimize future civilian casualties.

 

For the Gabonese who have already suffered the wrath of the military, reparations granting financial compensation to the families of the victims must be put in place.

 

Who leads these ground troops? Who gives them orders to exert violence upon Gabonese people to death?

 

All over the world, soldiers are being asked to stay in their barracks and not to conduct their military operations in urban areas; for there is too great a danger of burrs. The military is not equipped to do police work. They are killing machines. To put them in daily contact with civilians is to put civilians at risk.

 

An army is originally designed for battlefields, not peaceful urban areas. The unwarranted presence of the military near civilians often has devastating effects, even when the purpose of their presence is to protect those civilians.

 

Prolonging the presence of the military on the streets, near homes, by giving them the right to carry out identity checks and searches, is a huge risk for the population.

 

The maintenance of order within the territory must be the responsibility of the national police and the national gendarmerie. That's not the role of the military.

 

If we want to reduce the number of blunders, we need to get the soldiers back into the barracks.

Les militaires dirigent désormais le Gabon. Ils sont au pouvoir. Donc ils sont responsables de tout ce qui arrive au Gabon, surtout lorsqu’il s’agit de la sécurité des Gabonais. Par conséquent, ce sont eux qui sont responsables et doivent résoudre le problème des bavures meurtrières qui se produisent ces derniers temps, et sont causées par des militaires.

 

Le Gabon est littéralement sous occupation militaire. Par conséquent, la protection des civils est un impératif pour le régime de la Transition. Mais paradoxalement, on note des incidents d’une violence inouïe, au cours desquels des miliaires ont tués des compatriotes. La réaction du régime de la Transition est pour le moins circonspecte et décevante à ce sujet.

 

Ces tueries des militaires sur des civils doivent s’arrêter. De véritables investigations doivent en établir les responsabilités et des plans d’action mis en place pour éviter au maximum des futures victimes civiles.

 

Pour les Gabonais ayant déjà subi les foudres des militaires, des dédommagements accordant une compensation financière aux familles des victimes, doivent être mis en place.

 

Qui commande ces troupes au sol ? Qui leur donne des ordres leur permettant de violenter à mort, des Gabonais ?

 

Partout dans le monde, on demande aux militaires de rester dans leurs casernes et de ne point conduire leurs opérations militaires en zones urbaines ; car il y a un trop grand danger de bavures. Les militaires ne sont pas outillés pour faire la police. Ce sont des machines à tuer. Les mettre au contact quotidien des civils est mettre les civils en danger.

 

Une armée est conçue au départ pour les champs de bataille et non des zones urbaines pacifiques. La présence injustifiée de militaires près des civils a souvent des effets dévastateurs, même quand cette présence a pour objectif de protéger ces civils.

 

Prolonger la présence des militaires dans les rues, près des habitations, en leur donnant le droit d’effectuer des contrôles d’identité et des fouilles, est un énorme risque pour les populations.

 

Le maintien de l'ordre à l’intérieur du territoire doit être l'affaire de la police nationale et de la gendarmerie nationale. Ce n'est pas le rôle l'armée.

 

Si on veut moins de bavures, il faut faire rentrer les militaires dans les casernes.
