The principle of naming the periods of entry into new republican experiments in terms of the number of republics comes from France.

 

1.            The first French Republic was proclaimed at the end of the constitutional monarchy in 1792 and it lasted until May 18, 1804, when Napoleon Bonaparte proclaimed himself Emperor of France, abolishing the republic and re-establishing the French Empire.

2.           The Second French Republic was proclaimed on 24 February 1848 and lasted until 2 December 1852. During this period, the Republic was restored. It ended when Napoleon III was proclaimed Emperor and reimposed authoritarianism.

3.           The Third Republic was proclaimed on September 4, 1870 following the end of the Second French Empire and it lasted until July 10, 1940, after the invasion of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich. It is obvious that under the occupation, the French Republic was discontinued and the National Assembly, meeting in Vichy, voted full powers to the government of Marshal Pétain, who was under Hitler's orders.

4.           The Fourth Republic was proclaimed on 27 October 1946 following the liberation of France and lasted until 4 October 1958, when the Algerian War forced France to adopt a new form of government and to consider divesting itself of its colonies.

5.           The Fifth Republic has been in force since 4 October 1958 and continues to this day.

 

Once we have absorbed the evolution of the French republics, how could any normal person not imbued with the intoxication of power, consider for a single minute that the first Gabonese republic was promulgated in 1958, while Gabon remained a French colony and that independence was not going to take place before 1960? In 1958, Gabon was under "French occupation" so we could not speak of the first Republic. At some point they have to stop making fun of people! Where the French refuse to integrate the period of German occupation as part of their "Republics", a Secretary General of the Presidency in Gabon tells us that our First Republic took place under the colonial period. He's sick, this guy!

 

The independence of the Republic of Gabon was proclaimed on 17 August 1960. The Constitution adopted on 14 November 1960 can objectively be recognized as embodying the first Gabonese Republic.

 

President Leon Mba amended the Constitution on 17 February 1961 to strengthen his powers. This is not in itself a fundamental change in the form of government like moving from monarchy, or occupation to democracy. In our opinion, we cannot speak of a change of Republic.

 

For this blog, the second republic was promulgated in 1991 with the adoption of the return to a multiparty system.

 

If C'BON marks a return to the democratic momentum of 1960, then we can consider that he embodies at most the third Gabonese Republic.

Ci-dessus est le tableau complaisant qu’a dressé le Secrétaire Général de la Présidence de la République, pour justifier la dénomination folklorique de l’intronisation de C’BON, comme étant le début de la 5ième République Gabonaise. Mais c’est une énorme bêtise et nous vous démontrons pourquoi.

 

Le principe de nommer les périodes d’entrée dans de nouvelles expériences républicaines en termes de nombre de république, nous viens de la France.

 

1.      La première République française fut proclamée à la fin de la monarchie constitutionnelle en 1792 et elle dura jusqu’au 18 mai 1804, quand Napoléon Bonaparte se proclama empereur de France, abolissant la république et rétablissant l’empire français.

2.      La deuxième République française est proclamée le 24 février 1848 et ira jusqu’au 2 décembre 1852. Pendant cette période, la République est rétablie. Elle prend fin quand Napoléon III est proclamé Empereur et réimpose l’autoritarisme.

3.      La troisième République est proclamée le 4 septembre 1870 suite à la fin du second empire français et elle ira jusqu’au 10 juillet 1940, après l’invasion du troisième Reich d’Adolf Hitler. Il est évident que sous l’occupation, la république française est discontinuée et l'Assemblée nationale réunie à Vichy vote les pleins pouvoirs au gouvernement du Maréchal Pétain qui est sous les ordres d’Hitler.

4.      La quatrième République est proclamée le 27 octobre 1946 suite à la libération de la France et ira jusqu’au 4 octobre 1958, quand la Guerre d’Algérie impose à la France d’adopter une nouvelle forme de gouvernement et de considérer de se départir de ses colonies.

5.      La cinquième République est en vigueur depuis le 4 octobre 1958 et se poursuit à ce jour.

 

Une fois que l’on a absorbé l’évolution des républiques françaises, comment quelqu’un de normalement constitué et non imbue de l’ivresse du pouvoir, pourrait une seule minute considérer que la première république gabonaise fut promulguée en 1958, alors que le Gabon demeurait une colonie française et que l’indépendance n’allait pas intervenir avant 1960 ? En 1958, le Gabon était sous « occupation française » donc on ne pouvait pas parler de première République. A un moment il faut arrêter de se moquer des gens enfin ! Là où les français refusent d’intégrer la période de l’occupation Allemande comme faisant partie de leurs « Républiques », un Secrétaire Général de la Présidence au Gabon nous dit que notre Première République eut lieu sous la coloniale. Il est malade ce gars !

 

L'indépendance de la République du Gabon est proclamée le 17 août 1960. La Constitution adoptée le 14 novembre 1960 peut objectivement être reconnue comme incarnant la première République Gabonaise.

 

Le Président Leon Mba va modifier la Constitution le 17 février 1961 pour renforcer ses pouvoirs. Ce n’est pas en soi un changement fondamental de forme de gouvernement comme passer de la monarchie, ou de l’occupation à la démocratie. A notre avis, on ne peut pas parler de changement de République.

 

Pour ce blog, la deuxième république est promulguée en 1991 avec l’adoption du retour au multipartisme.

 

Si C’BON marque un retour à l’élan démocratique de 1960, alors on peut considérer qu’il incarne tout au plus la troisième République Gabonaise.
