Dans un article publié par Gabonreview, Nicole Assélé, le ministre Gabonais des Sports, émet des avis qui s’apparentent plus à de la satire qu’à des opinions mesurées d’un haut responsable d’un Etat sérieux. Elle pense que ce sont nos « ondes » négatives qui ont éliminé l’équipe nationale du Gabon, et non l’impréparation, l’amateurisme, le bricolage et le copinage semés par son cousin Ali Bongo.
