English version   What are the characteristics of a well governed nation?   For a country, to be well governed is to be strong on 3 pillars: Governance, decision-making and accountability in all domains.   At its core, governance is about the quality of institutions and the processes that they support. Two key factors are important. One is the notion of national or subnational economic governance, which refers to the institutions and processes that support economic activity and economic transactions on statewide or subnational levels. The other is the country governance, which relates to the system of rules, practices, and processes by which the country is directed and controlled.   Decision making is translated into a set of indicators that are used for the rapid assessment of issues and assignment of a verdict at the right level of responsibility and by the right people. Decision making depends on key indicators that center on the quality of political and econ

English version   In 1964, Nelson Mandela, the leader of the African National Congress’s armed wing, uMkhonto we Sizwe, was sent to prison in South Africa, on terrorism charges. This was a turning point in how black activists conceived of their mission to liberate their country.   In 1968, while he was a student at the University of Fort Hare, Steve Biko led black South African to adopt a radical movement called “black consciousness”. In 1972, he was expelled from the University of Natal, and in 1973, the apartheid government declared him an enemy of the State, meaning that he could not speak in public or publish, and quoting his words became illegal. Biko became a fugitive and went underground. He was arrested in 1977 during a government crackdown. He was tortured while held by the security services and died in custody. The apartheid government said that he committed suicide by hanging, however an autopsy revealed that he had died of multiple skull fractures.   In

GABON'S POPULATION PYRAMID DOES NOT SUPPORT THAT THERE ARE 1.2 MILLION VOTERS! LA PYRAMIDE DES ÂGES DU GABON NE SOUTIEN PAS QU’IL Y’AIT 1,2 MILLIONS D’ÉLECTEURS!

English version   The age pyramid tells us that in 2021 in Gabon, 13% of the population was under 5 years old; 12.5% of the population were between 5 and 9 years old; 11% of the population were between 10 and 14 years old; and 10% were between 15 and 19 years old.   Since the voting age in Gabon is 18 years old, the 10% of the population who were between 15 and 19 years old must have the 4% representing the 18 and 19 years old. So, 6% of the population is between 15 and 17 years old.   If we add up, it is a total of 42.5% of the Gabonese population who are not of voting age in Gabon.   According to the Central Census Bureau of Gabon, Gabon was home to 352600 foreigners in 2016; or 20% of the population. Since there are no new estimates, we will keep this rate and apply it to 2021.   Deductions:   1.If          the total population of Gabon in 2021 was 2341000. 2.If          42.5% of this population were not of voting age, then only 1346075 ar

English version   We received a huge number of messages following our post in memory of the national hero that is now Glenn-Patrick Moundende. We thank all readers who took the time to write to us and express their compassion for the bereaved family.   Some of our readers have pointed out to us that the sacrifice of this compatriot may have been in vain, because they judged that Gabonese were ungrateful people and were indifferent to the sacrifice of others. This blog answers them below.   The notion of personal sacrifice for the benefit of a people is an old tradition that has profoundly marked all civilizations of the world. This tradition of sacrifice is found abundantly in the Bible.   In general, sacrifice is above all a voluntary renunciation of oneself for the benefit of others. That is to say, in this case, our compatriot Glenn-Patrick Moundende was willing to put his own life at risk, to try to improve and thus protect the lives of other Gabonese.   L

We simply see in the action of our compatriot Glenn-Patrick Moundende, less a criminal act, than an act of desperation and a cry for help.   But faced with this call, the Gabonese authorities preferred to shoot him savagely. Before this state of affairs, for any Gabonese who takes the time to reflect and document the claims of Glenn-Patrick Moundende, he died as a hero of the republican fight of the Gabonese people and his aura wi

EVERY RELIGION SERVES A POLITICS. IN GABON YOU WILL BE TOLD THAT GOD LOVES DICTATORSHIP! TOUTE RELIGION SERT UNE POLITIQUE. AU GABON ON VOUS DIRA QUE DIEU AIME LA DICTATURE !

English version   Gabon is supposedly a secular state; The regime reminds us of this at every opportunity, by organizing large religious gatherings to unite believers around the dictatorship. Every religion serves a politics. But for saying this, Pierre-Claver Akendengue reminds us, Poé was hanged in the pouring rain.   In its quest for population control, the regime finds its strategy of instrumentalizing religions very useful. Indeed, we can observe the creation in all directions of transversal religious affinities, as well as the establishment of centers of religious power subject to a hierarchy, official or diffuse, whose center is located within the presidency of the republic. For Muslims, the Oceni family runs all activities for Ali Bongo. For Catholics, the archdiocese has long been nothing more than an auxiliary of the Bongo regime. As for the evangelical churches, they are supported and financed by the regime.   There are different forms of domination of
