Dear readers, some Gabonese who position themselves as representatives of the M'Pongwè ethnic community, have just distinguished themselves very negatively by publishing in the columns of the Journal L'Union, a note of thanks dripping with sycophancy, to Ali and Sylvia Bongo, for having promoted one of their own, Rose Christiane Ossouka-Raponda, to the position of Prime Minister.

Dear readers, this type of thank you letter to the Bongos is now outdated, useless, sectarian and frankly tribalistic. This kind of action unfortunately compartmentalizes our ethnic groups in dangerous considerations, where the republic only exists when it passes through the center of our village.

It is high time that we stopped ethnicizing the governance of Gabon; if we want a pluralistic and egalitarian Gabon. The members of the M’pongwè community who signed this deplorable letter are insensible people, because they are signing this letter on behalf of their community and not on their personal behalf. They are messengers of the dislocation of Gabonese society.

It has been for a long time now, that many Gabonese no longer have any interest in taking seriously actions that often aim to think of the republic as simply an ethnic federalism; where all the opportunities are good to advance one’s communitarianisms that have no future.

These signatory members of the M’Pongwè community would never dare to issue a press release advocating the rights of Gabonese, and therefore of the M’Pongwè, to education, health, housing, and security. No, they would never do that. Yet it is in these fields that the state is expected to operate and perform. No, these people focus their speech on ethnic thanks for the nomination of one of their own. This is pitiful! What is ultimately more important in a republic?

The Gabonese illness is really very deep!

Chers lecteurs, quelques Gabonais se positionnant comme représentatifs de la communauté ethnique M’Pongwè, viennent de s’illustrer très négativement en publiant dans les colonnes du Journal L’Union, une note de remerciement dégoulinant de larbinisme, à Ali et Sylvia Bongo, pour avoir promu une des leurs, Rose Christiane Ossouka-Raponda, au poste de Premier Ministre.

Chers lecteurs, ce type de lettre de remerciement aux Bongo est désormais dépassé, inutile, sectaire et franchement tribaliste. Ce genre d’agissement cloisonne malheureusement nos ethnies dans des considérations dangereuses, où la république n’existe que lorsqu’elle passe par le centre de notre village.

Il est grand temps qu’on arrête d'ethniciser la gouvernance du Gabon ; si nous voulons d’un Gabon pluraliste et égalitaire. Les membres de la communauté M’pongwè qui ont signé cette déplorable lettre sont des gens inconscients, car ils signent cette lettre au nom de leur communauté et non en leur nom propre. Ce sont des messagers de la dislocation de la société Gabonaise.

Il y a longtemps maintenant, que beaucoup de Gabonais n’ont plus d’intérêt à accorder à des agissements qui visent souvent à penser à la république comme étant simplement un fédéralisme ethnique ; où toutes les occasions sont bonnes pour faire avancer ses communautarismes sans aucun futur.

Ces membres signataires de la communauté M’Pongwè n’oseraient jamais publier de communiqué pour revendiquer les droits des Gabonais, donc des M’Pongwè, à l’éducation, à la santé, à l’habitat, et à la sécurité. Non, ils ne feraient jamais cela. C’est pourtant sur ces champs là que l’on attend l’Etat. Non, ces gens focalisent leur discours sur des remerciements ethniques à la nomination d’un des leurs. C’est pitoyable ! Qu’est ce qui est finalement plus important dans une république ?

Le mal Gabonais est vraiment très profond !
