Gabon is an incredible country; everyone knows that its health system is failing and the technical equipment in hospitals deserves the greatest attention. But the Ali Bongo regime decides that the priority is to call on French, Italian and Spanish expertise, not to improve the medical offer to the patient, as should logically be the case; but to digitize; that is to say, computerize the current system in its defective state.

 

It is not a bad thing to computerize Gabon's health system; but they must first make this system efficient at the base and computerize what is efficient. If the system is already inefficient at its core, the regime will spend taxpayers' money for nothing because by computerizing a failed system, it will make this failure more lethal. It's as if to make a car without brakes more efficient, one chooses to install a more powerful engine so that the vehicle would go even faster. Hello damage!

 

Three European groups would have been retained by the Gabonese State: Atos of France, Sivsa of Spain and Dedalus of Italy. This project is financed by the World Bank to the tune of 56 million dollars (about 30 billion CFA francs). The main objective of this digitization would be to provide Gabon with an integrated health system that would allow the dissemination of patients' medical data across all hospital services.

 

The embassies of France and Spain are said to be lobbying intensively for the lion's share to go to the company representing these respective countries. Of course dear readers, and as usual, this project does not concern Gabonese patients. The Gabonese people are being indebted for non-priority projects.

Le Gabon est un pays incroyable ; tout le monde sait que son système de santé est défaillant et les plateaux techniques dans les hôpitaux méritent la plus grande attention. Mais le régime Ali Bongo décide que la priorité est de faire appel à l’expertise française, italienne et espagnole, non pas pour améliorer l’offre médicale au patient, comme cela devrait logiquement être le cas ; mais afin de numériser ; c’est-à-dire informatiser le système actuel dans son état constaté défaillant.

 

Ce n’est pas une mauvaise chose d’informatiser le système de santé du Gabon ; mais il faut d’abord rendre ce système performant à la base et informatiser ce qui est performant. Si le système est déjà inefficace à la base, le régime va dépenser l’argent du contribuable pour rien car en informatisant un système défaillant, il rendra cette défaillance plus létale. C’est un peu comme si pour rendre une voiture sans freins plus efficace, on choisisse d’y installer un moteur plus puissant de manière à que le véhicule aille encore plus vite. Bonjour les dégâts !

 

Trois groupes Européens auraient été retenus par l’Etat Gabonais : Atos de France, Sivsa d’Espagne et Dedalus d’Italie. Ce projet est financé par la Banque Mondiale à hauteur de 56 millions de dollars (environ 30 milliards de francs CFA). Le principal objectif de cette numérisation serait de doter le Gabon d'un système de santé intégré qui permettrait la dissémination des données médicales des patients à travers tous les services hospitaliers.

 

Les ambassades de France et d'Espagne exerceraient un intense lobbying pour que la part du lion revienne à l’entreprise représentant ces pays respectifs. Comme quoi chers lecteurs, et comme d’habitude, ce projet ne regarde en rien les malades Gabonais. On endette les gabonais pour des projets non prioritaires.
