On the ranking of African countries based on GDP per capita,
Gabon is Ranked 6th with $15597 per capita in 2022; after The Seychelles,
Libya, Mauritius, Botswana and Equatorial-Guinea (Source IMF).
On the same ranking, Zimbabwe is ranked 35th with $
2444 per capita.
Yet today, 6th of November 2022, Zimbawe has joined
the space race by having its first satellite called Zinsat-1 launched into
space by the American NASA at their facility on Wallops Island in the USA.
According to Painos Gweme the Director of Zimbabwe space
program, this Satellite will be used for Zimbabwe telecommunications, to track
weather patterns, agricultural crop yields estimation etc.
Dear readers, Zimbabwer is per capita about 7 times poorer than
Gabon and yet….

des pays africains basé sur le PIB par habitant, le Gabon est classé 6ième avec
15597 dollars par habitant en 2022; après les Seychelles, la Libye, l’Ile Maurice,
le Botswana et la Guinée équatoriale (Source FMI).
Sur le même classement, le
Zimbabwe est classé 35ième avec 2444 dollars par habitant.
Pourtant, aujourd’hui, le 6
novembre 2022, le Zimbawe a rejoint le monde spatial en faisant lancer son
premier satellite appelé Zinsat-1 dans l’espace, par la NASA américaine dans
leurs installations de Wallops Island aux États-Unis.
Selon Painos Gweme,
directeur du programme spatial zimbabwéen, ce satellite sera utilisé pour les
télécommunications du Zimbabwe, pour suivre les conditions météorologiques,
estimer les rendements des cultures agricoles, etc.
Chers lecteurs, le Zimbabwe
est par habitant environ 7 fois plus pauvre que le Gabon et pourtant....
