In its latest edition, La Lettre du Continent tells us that the recent warming of relations between Ali and Pascaline of same name, had a strategic goal, that of countering the advance of Jean Ping in his race for the Gabonese presidency. This is what justified, according to this periodical, the confirmation of Pascaline Bongo in the honorary position of High Personal Representative of the President of the Gabonese Republic (High Representative of her brother, we are in a monarchy), but also a way to give her a "motivating" remuneration for her to do what she can to make Jean Ping abandon. Some think that Pascaline Bongo does not need money, but when you have her lifestyle, private jets, homes in the most exclusive parts of the world, there is never enough money!

But according to the article, this first attempt by Pascaline Bongo has not been successful. Indeed, she would have used discrete channels to ask Jean Ping to abandon the idea of running for president in 2016, but he has refused. The publication also states that the two former lovebirds, Pascaline Bongo and Jean Ping, have virtually no contact and that their communication is done through their two children, Christopher and Nesta. La Lettre du Continent also gives us more details on the announcement in their previous edition, of tensions between Ali Bongo and a Brazilian real estate company. We saw accurately as we predicted unpaid bills by Gabon for acquisitions in Brazil under the direction of Maixent Accrombesssi who was quite active there. The details given by La Lettre du Continent focus on the acquisition of a villa to be the Embassy of Gabon in Brazil (the same scheme as for Pozzo di Borgo in Paris). Apparently, from 16 to 25 October 2013, a mission was sent to Brazil to identify a local. Being part of this mission, someone by the name of Vincent de Paul Koussou, Director of Sanitation, at the Ministry of Investment Promotion, proposed a purchase report estimating the cost of the selected building of three floors for 6150000 dollars payable in three installments, that is to say 3 billion 75 million CFA francs, no less! So, on 30 January 2014, is said by La Lettre du Continent, Yves Fernand Manfoumbi, the Director General of Budget, asked the Paymaster General in office at the time, Yolande Okoulatsongo, to pay the Brazilian bill, but this was not done while the building had already been declared to be under the ownership of Gabon. Noting that the payments were not made according to the schedule, the selling broker of the building issued an ultimatum to the Gabonese authorities seeking payment before the date of 30 May 2014, or be subjected to penalties. La Lettre du Continent says that Gabon has responded by paying the bill in early June 2014, just before the arrival of Ali Bongo in Brazil as a spectator of the World Cup matches.

Another interesting fact revealed by La Lettre du Continent is that Ali Bongo, to satisfy many professionals of Haut-Ogooué who asked him to separate himself from Maixent Accrombessi, has appointed a series of securocrats of this province into the country's security services. They are Laurent Nguetsara who was already retired but returned to head the CNS (Intelligence); Célestin Embinga Loury to DGDI; Paul Operha as successor to Jean-Claude Ekogha Ella (whose state of health is still not formalized) as Chief of Staff of the Gabonese Armed Forces; and Roch Ongaga at the head of the army.

Dans sa plus récente livraison, La Lettre du Continent nous apprend que le dernier réchauffement des rapports entre Pascaline et Ali du même nom, avait un but stratégique, contrer les avancées de Jean Ping dans sa course à la présidence gabonaise. C’est ce qui justifiait selon ce périodique, la confirmation de Pascaline Bongo au poste certes honorifique de Haut-Représentant Personnel du Président de la République Gabonaise (Haut Représentant de son frère, nous sommes en monarchie), mais surtout un moyen de lui donner une rémunération « motivante » pour qu’elle fasse tout pour que Jean Ping abandonne. Certains penseront que Pascaline Bongo n’ait pas besoin d’argent, mais quand on a son train de vie, jets privés, résidences dans les endroits les plus exclusifs de la planète, on a jamais suffisamment d’argent !

Mais selon l’article, cette première tentative de Pascaline Bongo n’aurait pas été fructueuse. En effet, elle aurait utilisé des canaux discrets pour demander à Jean Ping d’abandonner l’idée de se présenter à la présidentielle de 2016, mais l’intéressé aurait refusé. La publication affirme aussi que les deux anciens tourtereaux, Pascaline Bongo et Jean Ping, n’ont pratiquement aucun contact et que leur communication se ferait par l’entremise de leurs deux enfants, Christopher et Nesta. Nous savons que notre lectorat est très prudent face à ce genre d’information, car nous avons le souvenir que par le passé, certaines personnes ont feint des inimitiés pour paraitre plus crédibles à l’opposition, alors que ce n’étaient que des taupes. Alors, acceptons l’information mais restons prudents car dans ce Gabon, on en a vu d’autres !

La Lettre du Continent nous donne aussi plus de détails sur l’annonce faite dans leur livraison précédente de tensions entre Ali Bongo et une compagnie immobilière Brésilienne. Nous avions vu juste, car nous prédisions des ardoises impayées par le Gabon pour des acquisitions au Brésil sous la houlette de Maixent Accrombesssi qui y était assez actif. Les détails donnés par La Lettre du Continent sont au sujet de l’acquisition d’une villa faisant office d’ambassade du Gabon au Brésil (le même stratagème que pour Pozzo di Borgo à Paris). Apparemment, du 16 au 25 octobre 2013, une mission fut envoyée au Brésil pour identifier des locaux. Faisant parti de cette mission, un certain Vincent de Paul Koussou, Directeur de l’Assainissement au Ministère de la Promotion des Investissements, a proposé un rapport d’achat estimant le coût la bâtisse de trois étages sélectionnée à 6150000 dollars payables en trois échéances, c'est-à-dire 3 milliards 75 millions de francs CFA, rien que ça! Alors, le 30 janvier 2014 nous dit La Lettre du Continent, Yves Fernand Manfoumbi, le Directeur Général du Budget, demanda au Trésorier Payeur Général en poste à l’époque, Yolande Okoulatsongo, de payer la facture brésilienne, mais ceci ne fut pas fait alors que le bâtiment avait déjà été déclaré propriété des Gabonais. Constatant que les paiements n’étaient pas effectués suivant l’échéancier, l’agence immobilière vendeuse de la bâtisse, lança un ultimatum aux autorités gabonaises demandant paiement avant la date du 30 mai 2014, sous peine de sanctions. La Lettre du Continent affirme que le Gabon a répondu en réglant l’ardoise au début juin 2014, juste avant l’arrivée d’Ali Bongo au Brésil comme spectateur aux matchs du Mondial.

Autre fait intéressant révélé par La Lettre du Continent est qu’Ali Bongo pour satisfaire les nombreux cadres du Haut-Ogooué qui lui demandaient de se séparer de Maixent Accrombessi, a nommé une série de sécurocrates issue de cette province dans les services de sécurité du pays. Il s’agit de Laurent Nguetsara qui était déjà à la retraite mais revient à la tête du CNS (renseignement); Célestin Embinga Loury à la DGDI; de Paul Operha comme successeur de Jean-Claude Ella Ekogha (dont l’état de santé n’est toujours pas rendu officiel), comme chef d'état-major des Forces Armées Gabonaises ; ainsi que de Roch Ongaga à la tête de l’armée de terre.
