Yesterday Wednesday, while the Gabonese people expected for a relaxation of the curfew in place to be announced, since according to the Copil, the incidences of Covid-19 cases are slowing, it is rather measures of tougher repression that were hammered out on television by an element of the Ministry of Defense.

 

The reigning system therefore continues to trample on the people. These Gabonese people who are revolting in their own way, peacefully, by ignoring the regime's injunctions, including that of getting vaccinated. This people who demand day after day the passage of Gabon to a democratic order, that guarantees of all human rights, freedom of expression, equality in access to State resources and the reduction corruption

 

In response, the Gabonese authorities are organizing the repression with the help of a justice system that is subservient to them. Several hundred men and women will be prosecuted, sentenced and certainly imprisoned. These Gabonese will not have committed any crime, no offense, they will simply have expressed their refusal of a system that tramples them and destroys their country.

 

As to paraphrase Pierre Claver Akendengue, no great people can and should remain indifferent or silent when their freedom and dignity are trampled on. Keeping quiet would be a form of complicity.

Hier Mercredi, alors que le peuple Gabonais s’attend à ce qu’on lui annonce un assouplissement du couvre-feu en vigueur, vu que d’après le Copil, les incidences de la Covid-19 sont baissières, ce sont plutôt des mesures de durcissement de la répression qui ont été martelées à la télévision par un élément du ministère de la Défense.

 

Le système régnant continue donc de piétiner le peuple. Ce peuple Gabonais qui se révolte à sa manière, pacifiquement, en ignorant les injonctions du régime, y compris celle d’aller se faire vacciner. Ce peuple qui réclame jour après jour le passage du Gabon à un ordre démocratique, a la garantie de tous les droits humains, de la liberté d’expression, de l’égalité dans l’accès aux ressources de l’Etat et de la diminution de la corruption

 

En réponse, les autorités Gabonaises organisent la répression avec l’aide d’une justice qui leur est inféodée. Ce sont plusieurs centaines d’hommes et de femmes qui seront poursuivis, condamnés et certainement emprisonnés. Ces Gabonais n’auront commis aucun crime, aucun délit, ils auront simplement exprimé leur refus d’un système qui les piétine et détruit leur pays.

 

Comme pour paraphraser Pierre Claver Akendengue, nul peuple considérable ne peut et ne doit rester indifférent ou silencieux lorsqu’on piétine sa liberté et sa dignité. Se taire serait une forme de complicité.
