The WHO’s Global status report on alcohol and health of 2018 presented a comprehensive picture of alcohol consumption in all regions of the world, including in Africa.

 

The WHO ranks the amount of alcohol consumed by country and per capita, in alphabetical order so as not to offend the susceptibilities of African countries, as you can see above. It is therefore up to the readers of these reports to make the ranking.

 

After the name of each country, the next column is that of the quantities of alcohol consumed, calculated as the ratio of the total number of liters consumed divided by the total population.

 

The numbers tell us that the gold medal goes to Seychelles with 13.8 liters per capita. Nigeria is silver medalist with 13.4 liters per capita and then comes Gabon, the bronze medalist with 11.5 liters per capita.

 

Congratulations to Mr. Castel, who arrived in Gabon as a penniless adventurer in 1963, created Sobraga in 1965, and today has become the eighth fortune in France with more than 16 billion euros. Cheers!

Le rapport de l’OMS sur la situation mondiale entre l'alcool et la santé de 2018, présente un tableau complet de la consommation d'alcool dans toutes les régions du monde, y compris en Afrique.

 

L’OMS donne le classement de la quantité d’alcool consommée par pays et par habitant, par ordre alphabétique pour ne pas heurter les susceptibilités des pays Africains, comme vous pouvez le constater ci-dessus. Il appartient donc aux lecteurs de ces rapports de faire le classement.

 

Après le nom de chaque pays, la colonne suivante est celle des quantités d'alcool consommées, calculées comme le rapport du nombre total de litres consommés divisé par la population totale.

 

Les chiffres nous disent que la médaille d'or revient aux Seychelles avec 13,8 litres par habitant. Le Nigéria est médaillé d'argent avec 13,4 litres par habitant ; puis vient le Gabon, médaillé de bronze avec 11,5 litres par habitant.

 

Félicitations à M. Castel, arrivée au Gabon en aventurier sans le sou en 1963, créateur de la Sobraga en 1965, et aujourd’hui huitième fortune de France avec plus de 16 milliards d’euros. A votre santé !
