On the proposal of the Presidency of the Republic and the Government, the following ordinance was introduced to the approval of the Parliament and the Constitutional Court, for modification of the eligibility criteria for the Presidency of the Gabonese Republic: only Gabonese whose surname and filiation are found in the Bongo-Valentin line are eligible to stand in the presidential election. Any application from people who cannot demonstrate this filiation and who do not respond to this surname, will be considered unconstitutional and purely and simply rejected.

Sur proposition de la présidence de la république et du gouvernement, l’ordonnance suivante a été introduite à l’approbation du parlement et de la Cour Constitutionnelle, pour modification des critères d’éligibilité à la Présidence de la République Gabonaise : seuls les Gabonais dont le patronyme et la filiation se retrouvent dans la lignée Bongo-Valentin sont éligibles à se présenter à l’élection présidentielle. Toute candidature venant de personnes ne pouvant pas démontrer cette filiation et ne répondant pas à ce patronyme, sera considérée anticonstitutionnelle et purement et simplement rejetée.
