The entrance exam to the National School of Magistracy of Gabon, has just been held. There were 6619 candidates for 170 spots to be filled. Dear readers, the admission rate to this school would therefore be 170 X 100 / 6619 = 2.57%

 

In other words, out of 100 candidates only about 3 would have the chance to accepted to attend.

 

By way of comparison with other elite schools, we consulted the newspaper The Crimson which is the official publication of Harvard University. As you can read here, for first-year admission to Harvard, of august 2021, the university had 57435 applicants for a 1968 student intake, or an admission percentage of 3.43%.

 

If we refer to another elite university, that of Yale, for the freshman year of the 2021 school year, Yale had 32900 applicants and admitted only 2272, or an admission percentage of 6.9%. You can find these statitics here.

 

Dear readers, in view of these statistics, one would be tempted to affirm that the National School of Magistracy of Gabon could be the most selective institution of higher education in the world. When we know the needs of Gabon, should we laugh or cry about this?
