Until a few years ago, Frederic Bongo was a colonel and especially head of the intelligence services of the Bongos’ Republican Guard. Today, he is nothing. Thus, among the Bongos, when things are shaky, they do not spare each other’s.

 

He has simply been removed from the Republican Guard and in addition has lost all rights to an administrative pension because he is accused of abandoning his post, which is the equivalent of a desertion in the army, the greatest crime that a soldier can commit, against their unit.

 

Who could have reduced Omar Bongo's son to his simplest expression as a naked citizen? Sylvia Bongo of course! The latter would accuse him of maintaining links with Omar Denis Jr Bongo, from neighboring Congo, which would threaten the accession of Noureddin Bongo-Valentin to power in Gabon.

 

Frédéric Bongo was reportedly recently brought back to Libreville, where he had been practically forbidden to visit, to go before a special military council at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense. The obvious charge was that he had not served as a military attaché in South Africa.  His diplomatic passport was reportedly taken away.

 

But it is said in circles close to the Bongos, that the banishment of Frédéric Bongo has something to do with his active role during the period when Ali Bongo was in a coma following a stroke, in Saudi Arabia. He would have violently opposed the Valentin clan who held on to take the situation in their hands. To protect himself, Frédéric Bongo would have begun to get closer to Omar Denis Jr Bongo, and consequently his grandfather Sassou-Nguesso, which was perceived by the Valentin clan as a declaration of war.

 

The war of succession is likely to be bloody within this family that has been rotting our lives for 55 years!

Il y a quelques années encore, Frédéric Bongo était colonel et surtout patron des services de renseignements de la Garde Républicaine des Bongo. Aujourd’hui, il n’est plus rien. Comme quoi, entre les Bongo, quand le torchon brule, on ne se fait pas cadeau.

 

Il vient purement et simplement d’être radié des effectifs de la Garde Républicaine et en plus a perdu tout droit à une pension administrative car il est accusé d’abandon de poste, c’est l’équivalent d’une désertion dans l’armée, le plus grand crime que puisse commettre un militaire, contre son corps de métier.

 

Qui a bien pu réduire le fils d’Omar Bongo à sa plus simple expression de citoyen dénudé ? Sylvia Bongo naturellement ! Cette dernière l’accuserait d’entretenir des conciliabules avec Omar Denis Jr Bongo, depuis le Congo voisin, ce qui menacerait l’accession de Noureddin Bongo-Valentin au pouvoir au Gabon.

 

Frédéric Bongo aurait été ramené récemment à Libreville, où il était pratiquement interdit de séjour, pour passer devant un conseil militaire spécial au siège du ministère de la défense. Le chef d’accusation tout trouvé était qu’il n’avait pas assuré ses fonctions d'attaché militaire en Afrique du Sud. Son passeport diplomatique lui aurait été retiré.

 

Mais il se suppute dans les milieux proches des Bongo, que la mise au ban de Frédéric Bongo ait quelque chose à voir avec son rôle actif pendant la période où Ali Bongo était dans le coma suite à un accident vasculaire cérébral, en Arabie saoudite. Il se serait opposé violemment au clan des Valentins qui tenaient coute que coute à prendre la situation en main. Pour se protéger, Frédéric Bongo aurait amorcé un rapprochement avec Omar Denis Jr Bongo, et par conséquent son grand père Sassou-Nguesso, ce qui fut perçu par le clan Valentin comme une déclaration de guerre.

 

La guerre de succession risque d’être sanglante au sein de cette famille qui nous pourri la vie depuis 55 ans !
