The latest edition of La Lettre du Continent tells us that the publication of the book by Pierre Péan has become a matter of State between France and Gabon, and that the opposition is now stimulated toward radicalization, which is not safe for Ali Bongo. In the hope to torpedo the book, Ali Bongo has decided to make an all-out lobbying in Paris, and to mobilize the PDG’s youth activists for marches in the country.

La Lettre du Continent said that to estinguish the fire has become the motto of the Ali Bongo camp these days. To do so, the lawsuit of the State of Gabon against Pierre Péan has been sent to lawyer Delphine Meillet who would be following it in France. Pierre Péan has reportedly entrusted his defense to Florence Bourg, who is also counsel for the weekly Marianne. They act in the same vein as the improvised media declarations of people close to the regime such as Pascaline Bongo, Jean-Boniface Assélé and Delphine Ayo-Mba etc. The periodical says that Ali Bongo is now very wary of all the barons of his father’s time who would still be active in the PDG, because he suspects them of having informed Pierre Péan. To such an extent that he has decided to rely only on young party activists led by Vivien Amos Pea Makaga, to thwart opposition protests on the ground.

La Lettre du Continent tells us that another book is in preparation. French journalist François Mattei is writing a book about Ali Bongo and his regime, in collaboration with Michel Ongoundou Loundah. In addition, the periodical also says that the book by Pierre Péan has been widely read in the Sassou Nguesso family.

La Lettre du Continent also gives us the background of the program "Controverses" broadcasted on 8 November 2014 on Vox Africa. It describes guests: Louis Magloire Keumayou, Amobé Mévégué, Francis Laloupo and Claudy Siar, as having behaved like real prosecutors, demolishing Pierre Péan in his absence, thus unable to explain himself. It is supposed to be Nadine Diatta, boss of NCI strategy and communications, and sister in law to Maixent Accrombessi, Ali Bongo’s Chief of Staff, who organized the program.

La Lettre du Continent finally analyzes the possible return of Raymond Ndong Sima in the opposition. He is also preparing to publish a book whose title is "Quel renouveau pour le Gabon ". It would be a book of 150 pages to be published in February 2015 and which will review the regime from the time of the death of Omar Bongo in 2009. According to La Lettre du Continent, the former Prime Minister will describe the current regime as being permanently hermetic to compliance with laws and regulations and also of solving the social protests that are growing in the country. The book will also describe the poor relationship between Raymond Ndong Sima and the Chief of Staff of Ali Bongo, Maixent Accrombessi.

La dernière édition de La Lettre du Continent nous dit que la publication du livre de Pierre Péan est désormais une affaire d’Etat franco gabonaise, et que l’opposition est dorénavant stimulée vers la radicalisation, ce qui n’est pas sans danger pour Ali Bongo. Pour espérer torpiller le livre, Ali Bongo aurait décidé de faire un lobbying tous azimuts à Paris, et de mobiliser les jeunes militants du PDG pour des marches dans le pays.

La Lettre du Continent dit qu’éteindre le feu serait le mot d’ordre du camp Ali Bongo en ce moment. Pour ce faire, la plainte de l’Etat gabonais contre Pierre Péan a été transmise à l’avocate Delphine Meillet qui ferait le suivi en France. Pierre Péan, lui, aurait confié sa défense à Florence Bourg, qui est par ailleurs l’avocate de l’hebdomadaire Marianne. Même si la plainte de Luc Bengono Nsi contre Ali Bongo pour faux en écriture et usage de faux, n’a jamais été instruite, une nouvelle procédure a été intentée le 13 novembre à Libreville par le Front Uni de l’Opposition qui entend appeler Ali Bongo à la démission.

La Lettre du Continent affirme que le climat social est délétère au Gabon, et que l’ex-Premier Ministre Raymond Ndong Sima, serait tenté par un retour dans l’opposition. Les nombreux mouvements de contestation sont plus que jamais vigoureux, à tel point que des syndicalistes de la Conasysed et du SENA soient allés assiéger l’Assemblée nationale, et interpeller son Président Guy Nzouba Ndama, pour que les législateurs se penchent sur les conditions de travail des Gabonais. Pour La Lettre du Continent, c’était du jamais vu au Gabon.

Côté Ali Bongo, La Lettre du Continent affirme que les jeunes du PDG venus à sa rescousse, n’ont pas vraiment de véritable stratégie. Ils agissent dans la même veine que les sorties médiatiques improvisées des proches du régime que sont Pascaline Bongo, Jean-Boniface Assélé, et Delphine Ayo-Mba etc. Le périodique affirme qu’Ali Bongo est désormais très méfiant envers tous les barons du temps de son père qui seraient encore actifs au sein du PDG, car il les soupçonne d’avoir informé Pierre Péan. A tel enseigne qu’il aurait décidé de ne s’appuyer que sur les jeunes militants du parti encadrés par Vivien Amos Péa Makaga, pour contrecarrer les manifestations de l’opposition sur le terrain.

La Lettre du Continent nous annonce par ailleurs, qu’un autre livre serait en préparation. Le journaliste français François Mattei serait en train d’écrire un livre sur Ali Bongo et son régime, en collaboration avec Michel Ongoundou Loundah. La Lettre du Continent analyse enfin le possible retour de Raymond Ndong Sima dans l’opposition. Ce dernier préparerait lui aussi un livre dont le titre est «Quel renouveau pour le Gabon? ». Ce serait un ouvrage de 150 pages qui paraîtra en février 2015 et dressera un bilan du régime en place depuis le décès d’Omar Bongo en 2009. D’après La Lettre du Continent, l’ancien Premier Ministre y décrira l’actuel pouvoir comme étant irrémédiablement hermétique au respect des lois et au règlement des contestations sociales qui ne cessent de croître dans le pays. L’ouvrage décrira aussi les mauvaises relations entre Raymond Ndong Sima et le Directeur de Cabinet d’Ali Bongo, Maixent Accrombessi.
