On Wednesday, the public got another evidence that the Ali Bongo camp is no longer sleeping very well at night. One of the Bongo family most loyal member, Leonard Andjembe, who is the first Vice President of the Gabonese Senate, was interviewed by the partisan public TV channel Gabon Television.

During that interview, Leonard Andjembe of course declared his opposition to the Sovereign National Conference. This is not surprising as the contrary would have been shocking. What was evident in that interview was how nervous and incoherent Leonard Andjembe appeared. Clearly a sign that he was being tormented by the prospect of losing their grip on power.

Leonard Andjembe said that he did not know why the opposition was calling for a Sovereign National Conference because he did not know the stakes of that conference. He also said that the opposition wanted to transform Gabon into a violent state. No Mr. Andjembe, it is you who are using violence to stay in power against the will of the people. It is you who send the security forces attack defenseless civilians; it is you who are putting students in jail; it is you who are closing newspapers; it is you who are arresting activists who want to hold a forum in Libreville; it is you who are tear gazing to death peaceful young people. No Mr. Andjembe, the violence in Gabon starts and ends with you and only you!

People like Leonard Andjembe are sensing that the Gabonese people are ready to reclaim the golden goose. Given that the doctrine of the Bongo regime is essentially despotism with theft as its final object; people like Leonard Andjembe have become delusionary convinced of the Bongos eternal rule of Gabon. But now that the tide is turning, even dead-enders like Andjembe are now realizing that their regime has edged dangerously closer to the cliff. Not to worry Mr. Andjembe, the Gabonese people will be more than happy to push you over.

Mercredi, le public a eu une autre preuve que le camp Ali Bongo ne doit plus très bien dormir la nuit. Un des fidèles à la famille Bongo, Leonard Andjembe, qui est le premier vice-président du Sénat gabonais, a été interviewé par la partisane télévision publique Gabon Télévision.

Au cours de cette entrevue, Leonard Andjembe a bien entendu déclaré son opposition à la Conférence Nationale Souveraine. Cela n'est pas surprenant et c’est le contraire qui aurait été choquant. Ce qui est apparu manifeste dans cette entrevue était de voir à quel point Leonard Andjembe apparaissait nerveux et incohérent. Clairement un signe qu'il soit tourmenté par la perspective de perdre leur emprise sur le pouvoir.

Leonard Andjembe a dit qu'il ne comprenait pas pourquoi l'opposition appelait à une Conférence Nationale Souveraine, car il ne connaissait pas les enjeux de cette conférence. Ce blog va aider M. C'est vous qui envoyez les forces de sécurité attaquer des civils sans défense; c'est vous qui mettez les étudiants en prison; c'est vous qui interdisez les journaux ; c'est vous qui arrêtez les activistes voulant organiser un forum à Libreville; c'est vous qui lacrymogènez à mort de paisibles jeunes gens. Non M. Andjembe, la violence au Gabon commence et finie avec vous et seulement vous!

Des gens comme Leonard Andjembe sentent que le peuple gabonais est prêt à leur réclamer sa poule aux œufs d'or. Étant donné que la doctrine du régime Bongo est essentiellement le despotisme et le vol comme objectif final, des gens comme Leonard Andjembe se sont convaincus de l’éternité du règne des Bongo au Gabon. Mais maintenant que le vent tourne, même les membres du dernier carré comme Andjembe se rendent compte que leur régime se rapproche dangereusement de la falaise. Ne vous inquiétez pas M. Andjembe, le peuple gabonais sera plus qu'heureux de vous y faire basculer.
