To defeat the tenacity, the optimism, and the determination of the resistants, Ali Bongo want’s to close the democratic window in Gabon, by giving to the Gabonese people an illusion of democracy.

For this, Ali Bongo needs extras from the opposition, to act in the play whose title will be "democratization of the Gabonese parliament". This "democratized" parliament will become the showcase that Ali Bongo will exhibit as the trophy of the wave of democratization underway in Gabon, and the universalization of the support provided by the Gabonese people to his endeavor. The extras are already lining up at the cash desk; they are numerous!

The extras will make democratic speeches, and give the impression of the reintroduction in Gabon of a robust multiparty system and competitive elections. But be careful, dear readers, all this will be calculated to the millimeter and the margin of maneuver that will be given to them, will be that which Ali Bongo would tolerate. Ultimately, the long autocratic parenthesis that we live under the Bongos, will continue, with a parliament where the increase in the number of opposition MPs, will serve as a release valve for the regime.

Ali Bongo’s legislative elections will be nothing more than a setting up of normative and operational elements with democratic appearances, whose role will be to try to reinforce the credibility of the elections and governance in Gabon. Therefore, if the procedure for appointing MPs is legitimate and democratic, the procedure for appointing the president will be judge similarly as well, since both procedures use the same apparatus.

Dear readers, our observation of the ongoing maneuvers allows us to assert bluntly that the legislative elections in preparation are only intended to contribute to a consolidation of the Ali Bongo regime, by building a democratic façade, a mirage.

Pour vaincre la ténacité, l'optimisme et la détermination des résistants, Ali Bongo veut fermer la fenêtre démocratique au Gabon, en donnant au peuple gabonais une illusion de démocratie.

Pour cela, Ali Bongo a besoin de figurants de l’opposition, pour jouer dans la pièce de théâtre dont le titre sera « démocratisation du parlement Gabonais ». Ce parlement « démocratisé » deviendra la vitrine qu’Ali Bongo exhibera comme le trophée de la vague de démocratisation en cours au Gabon, et l’universalisation du support que lui apporte le peuple Gabonais dans cette entreprise. Les figurants s’alignent déjà à la caisse ; ils sont nombreux !

Les figurants feront des discours démocratiques, et donneront l’impression de la réintroduction au Gabon d’un du multipartisme robuste et d’élections concurrentielles. Mais attention, chers lecteurs, tout ceci sera calculé au millimètre et la marge de manœuvre qui leur sera donnée, sera celle qu’Ali Bongo tolèrerait. En définitive, la longue parenthèse autocratique que nous vivons sous les Bongo, va continuer, avec un parlement ou l’augmentation du nombre de députés issus d’une opposition figurante, servira de soupape au régime.

Les législatives d’Ali Bongo ne seront ni plus, ni moins qu’une mise en place d’éléments normatifs et opératoires aux apparences démocratiques, dont le rôle sera d’essayer de renforcer la crédibilité des élections et de la gouvernance au Gabon. Par conséquent, si la procédure de désignation des députes est légitime et démocratique, c’est que la procédure de désignation du président l’est aussi, vu que les deux procédures utilisent le même appareillage.

Chers lecteurs, notre constat des manœuvres en cours nous permettent de vous affirmer sans prendre de gants, que les élections législatives en préparation n’ont pour objectif que de contribuer à une consolidation du régime Ali Bongo, en bâtissant une façade démocratique en trompe l’œil.
