« Le laboratoire n’est pas un laboratoire provisoire ni temporaire, c’est un acquis. C’est quoi le laboratoire ? Ce sont des équipements mais également des hommes qui y travaillent », a affirmé Guy-Patrick Obiang-Ndong.

D’après le Centre National de Ressources Textuelles et Lexicales (CNRTL) qui est un organe du Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) français, un laboratoire se définit comme étant :

« Un local pourvu des installations et des appareils nécessaires à des manipulations et des expériences effectuées dans le cadre de recherches scientifiques, d'analyses médicales ou de matériaux, de tests techniques ou de l'enseignement scientifique et technique. »

Donc, n’en déplaise à Guy-Patrick Obiang-Ndong, un laboratoire est d’abord un local ; et quand ce local est temporaire et provisoire, c’est que ce laboratoire est temporaire et provisoire. Le laboratoire situé dans le gymnase est bel et bien une structure temporaire et par conséquent le nom du docteur décédé a été estampillé sur une structure temporaire.

Maintenant si un laboratoire permanent est construit et baptisé du même nom, ce sera une nouvelle crémaillère, et non la continuité du laboratoire du gymnase.
