At the Copil press conference held on Tuesday, 12 May 2020, Copil spokesperson Guy-Patrick Obiang-Ndong deplored the difficulties encountered by Copil in making itself heard by the Gabonese people.

We simply want to remind Mr. Obiang-Ndong and his friends of the Copil, that it is this Copil that has cultivated disinformation from the start. As proof, when Doctor Tanguy succumbed, the truth of his treatment and of his initial burial in unacceptable conditions was systematically denied by the Copil, until his family contacted some activists who took the protest to the web. It was only after the story became known via the internet that the Copil had to admit the truth. There have been other examples of lack of transparency on the part of the Copil.

The Copil i shaving difficulties because the Gabonese people simply do not trust them. There is a lack of trust and this in turn can lead some Gabonese people to question whether the recommendations made by the Copil are truly that important.

It is the responsibility of Copil to rebuild this trust by providing the right unvarnished and truthful information to the people.

We will not give up!

Lors de la conférence de presse du Copil tenue ce Mardi 12 May 2020, le Porte-parole du Copil, Guy-Patrick Obiang-Ndong, s’est lamenté des difficultés rencontrées par le Copil à se faire entendre des Gabonais.

Nous voulons simplement rappeler à Monsieur Obiang-Ndong et à ses amis du Copil, que c’est bien ce Copil qui a cultivé dès le départ, la désinformation. Pour preuve, Quand le Docteur Tanguy a succombé, la vérité de son traitement et de son enterrement initial dans des condition inadmissible, a été systématiquement niée par le Copil, jusqu’à ce que sa famille contacte certains activistes qui ont ameuté la toile. Ce n’est qu’après l’ébruitement de l’affaire sur internet que le Copil a dû admettre la vérité. Il y a eu d’autres exemples de manque de transparence de la part du Copil.

Le Copil a des difficultés parce que les Gabonais ne leur font tout simplement pas confiance. Il y a un manque de confiance et cela peut amener certains Gabonais à se demander si les recommandations faites par le Copil sont vraiment si importantes.

Il est de la responsabilité de Copil de rétablir cette confiance en fournissant au peuple des informations correctes et véridiques.
