Dear readers, we have received a mail from a Haitian friend of the Marley family, who resides in Nassau in the Bahamas, who wrote to us to tell us that while it is true that Bob Marley had sex with Pascaline Bongo, she was never important to him. She had this book written and publish for self-aggrandizement purposes. She wants people to think that she was somebody important in Bob Marley’s life; which she wants to use to leave a historical and indelible legacy after her life. She wants to be known as Bob Marley great African love. She is trying to create a meaningful legacy for herself and her name, via Bob Marley’s popularity.

 

The relatively young and ambitious French journalist, Anne-Sophie Jahn, would have been retained by Pascaline Bongo to write this book which places Omar Bongo’s daughter at the center of Bob Marley’s sentimental life. For this friend of the Marleys, Pascaline Bongo was to Bob Marley a mere spoiled kid of a president who was throwing herself at him. Pascaline Bongo was 22 and Marley 34 when the relationship was consummated. Pascaline and Marley were never a couple. For this friend of the Marleys, Pascaline Bongo would like to give herself a greater importance than reality. According to this gentleman, several Wailers bedded Bongo’s girls in Gabon and some of these girls followed them to Jamaica and London for a while. However, these were just kids that no one took seriously; girls who were 18, 19, 20 at most, while the Wailers were guys over 30 at the time.

Pour cet ami des Marley, Pascaline Bongo n’était pour Bob Marley que la gamine gâtée d’un président qui était venue s’offrir à lui.
