WHY DID RENÉ NDEMEZO’OBIANG GIVE THIS STRANGE SPEECH IN BITAM? POURQUOI RENÉ NDEMEZO’OBIANG A PRONONCÉ CET ETRANGE DISCOURS À BITAM ?

René Ndemezo’Obiang is anything but crazy. He hasn't lost his mind. He is a man who is blessed with an above average intelligence and therefore, when he makes such a risky statement as the one he recently made in Bitam, this has to be done on purpose, with a specific goal. This blog looked at the cold and calculated motivations of René Ndemezo’Obiang.

 

In 2016, René Ndemezo’Obiang had been an excellent campaign manager for Jean Ping. All observers agree that he did a very good job for which he received hundreds of millions of CFA francs from Jean Ping. René Ndemezo’Obiang managed the campaign budget. The results speak for him: Jean Ping officially won 7 out of 9 provinces. It was an electoral landslide unprecedented in the history of Gabon. Ali Bongo had been demolished.

 

If Jean Ping had been declared the winner as the results demonstrated, René Ndemezo’Obiang would have been either Prime Minister or Chief of Staff to the President. That was his ambition. But when he realized that the forces ruling Gabon were keen to keep Ali Bongo in power, he felt that if he wanted a well-paid political future in this environment, he had to let go of Jean Ping and go back to the Bongos.

 

Ali Bongo rewarded René Ndemezo’Obiang's renewed allegiance by giving to him the Economic and Social Council; but the latter considers this position to be below his ambitions. Ali Bongo’s stroke will give René Ndemezo’Obiang the opportunity to put himself back at the center of the Bongo’s need for Noureddin Bongo-Valentin to come to power. The Bongo-Valentin are surrounded by Gabonese of foreign origins who do not know the lay of the land and cannot effectively organize a presidential campaign. René Ndemezo'Obiang went to sell himself to Sylvia Bongo by promising that he would be able to elect Noureddin Bongo-Valentin in 2023. He asked Sylvia Bongo and the King of Morocco to mobilize a war chest of around 250 billion francs CFA, because everyone will have to be showered with money during the campaign; and the Gabonese have become more and more greedy. Obviously, it is René Ndemezo’Obiang who will manage this windfall because he will be the campaign director of Noureddin Bongo-Valentin.

 

The melting of Démocratie Nouvelle into the PDG allows René Ndemezo’Obiang to be appointed campaign manager for Noureddin Bongo-Valentin because only a member of the PDG could have this role. Bitam’s statement was an opportunity for René Ndemezo’Obiang to send a message of loyalty to the Bongo-Valentin by publicly announcing his break with Jean Ping. He used language that was sufficiently contemptuous of Jean Ping, calling him "Nkomi", not even daring to pronounce his name, to express all the disdain he now had for him. A way of telling the Bongo-Valentin that he was definitely freeing himself from the Jean Ping tie-up and was ready to go and fight for Noureddin Bongo-Valentin, because nothing bound him anymore to Ping or anyone else.

René Ndemezo’Obiang est tout, sauf fou. Il n’a pas perdu la raison. C’est un homme qui est doté d’une intelligence au-dessus de la moyenne et par conséquent, quand il fait une déclaration aussi risquée que celle qu’il a faite récemment à Bitam, cela est forcement un fait exprès, avec un objectif précis. Ce blog s’est penché sur les motivations froides et calculées de René Ndemezo’Obiang.

 

En 2016, René Ndemezo’Obiang avait été un excellent directeur de campagne pour Jean Ping. Tous les observateurs s’accordent à dire qu’il fit un très bon travail pour lequel il reçut des centaines de millions de francs CFA de la part de Jean Ping. C’est René Ndemezo’Obiang qui gérait le budget de campagne. Les résultats plaident pour lui : Jean Ping remporta officiellement 7 provinces sur 9. Ce fut un ras de marée électoral sans précédent dans l’histoire du Gabon. Ali Bongo a été démoli.

 

Si Jean Ping avait été déclaré vainqueur comme le voulait les résultats, René Ndemezo’Obiang aurait été soit Premier Ministre, soit Directeur de Cabinet du Président. C’était cela son ambition. Mais quand il réalisa que les forces qui dirigeaient le Gabon tenaient à maintenir Ali Bongo au pouvoir, il estima que s’il voulait d’un avenir politique bien rémunéré dans cet environnement, il lui fallait lâcher Jean Ping et repartir vers les Bongo.

 

Ali Bongo récompensa la nouvelle allégeance de René Ndemezo’Obiang en lui cédant le Conseil Economique et Social ; mais ce dernier considère ce poste comme étant en dessous de ses ambitions. L’AVC d’Ali Bongo va donner à René Ndemezo’Obiang l’occasion de se replacer au centre des besoins des Bongo pour l’arrivée au pouvoir de Noureddin Bongo-Valentin. Les Bongo-Valentin sont entourés de Gabonais d’adoption qui ne connaissent pas le terroir et ne peuvent organiser efficacement une campagne présidentielle. René Ndemezo’Obiang va se vendre à Sylvia Bongo en leur promettant d’être capable de faire élire Noureddin Bongo-Valentin en 2023. Il demande à Sylvia Bongo et au Roi du Maroc de mobiliser un trésor de guerre d’environ 250 milliards de francs CFA, car il va falloir arroser tout le monde lors de la campagne ; et les Gabonais sont de plus en plus gourmands. Evidemment, c’est René Ndemezo’Obiang qui gèrera cette manne car il sera le directeur de campagne de Noureddin Bongo-Valentin.

 

La fonte de Démocratie Nouvelle dans le PDG permet à René Ndemezo’Obiang d’être désigné directeur de campagne de Noureddin Bongo-Valentin car seul un membre du PDG pourrait avoir ce rôle. La déclaration de Bitam a été l’occasion pour René Ndemezo’Obiang d’envoyer un message de fidélité aux Bongo-Valentin en prononçant publiquement sa rupture avec Jean Ping. Il a utilisé un langage suffisamment méprisant envers Jean Ping, en le qualifiant de «Nkomi », n’osant même plus prononcer son nom, pour exprimer tout le dédain qu’il avait maintenant pour ce dernier. Une façon de dire aux Bongo-Valentin qu’il se libérait définitivement de l’attache Jean Ping et était prêt à aller batailler pour Noureddin Bongo-Valentin, car plus rien ne le liait de Ping ou de quiconque d’autre.

 

Chers lecteurs, l’audience de René Ndemezo’Obiang n’était pas les pauvres quidams assemblés à Bitam, mais les décideurs se reposant dans les villas cossues de la Sablière et les appartements du palais royal de Rabat. Pour avoir le poste de directeur de campagne de Noureddin Bongo-Valentin, René Ndemezo’Obiang devait tuer Jean Ping. Il a décidé de le faire de la manière la plus sale et la plus couarde, à Bitam le 24 avril 2021. Gérer un trésor de 250 milliards de francs CFA le temps d’une campagne, ça donne des ailes.
