DEATH OF A HUGE ARTIST TOO LITTLE KNOWN TO THE GABONESE PEOPLE! DÉCÈS D’UN IMMENSE ARTISTE TROP PEU CONNU DES GABONAIS!
English
version
His name was Elie Assoumou. He was an
accordion virtuoso, who in the 1970s and 1980s was very popular among
Woleu-Ntem music lovers. Some of his songs now belong to the cultural and
musical heritage of this province. For people from Woleu-Ntem, Elie Assoumou
could have approached Jacob Medjo Me Nsom who came from Cameroon, but remains to
this day certainly the greatest artist Fang-Beti (except Mvet); if he had been more
commercialized.
This very important musician has just left us.
May he rest in peace !
Version française
Il s’appelait Elie
Assoumou.
