The way things are going, we are moving without great surprises to the renewal of a Bongo at the head of Gabon in 2023, for yet another term. As usual, the official results will be fictitious; and the Bongo that will be presented to us will receive the plebiscite, as at the height of the era of the single party system.

 

Dear readers, Gabon continues its assiduous trajectory towards the authoritarian normalization of electoral scams. The entire electoral apparatus already established or in the making in the country, obeys the logic of the authoritarian normalization of the Bongo monarchy.

 

The election for Ali Bongo's third term, or his son's first, will be held despite the obvious signs in Gabonese society of the rejection of a kleptocratic regime.  Still problematic, this election will be held at the very moment when the social movement has reached a critical stage, that of the bankruptcy of the Bongo’ system of governance.

 

Gabon is one of the few countries in the world where we are led to believe that a people who despise the regime in place and its system of predation, continues with enthusiasm to vote for this regime that tortures them.

 

When we listen to the electoralists of all stripes, in all likelihood and by virtue of Gabonese realpolitik, victory over the Bongo, under the current electoral conditions, is a daydream.

Au train où vont les choses, nous nous acheminons sans grandes surprises à la reconduction d’un Bongo à la tête du Gabon en 2023, pour un énième mandat. Comme d’habitude, les résultats officiels seront concoctés ; et le Bongo qu’on nous présentera sera plébiscité, comme au plus fort de l’époque du parti unique.

 

Chers lecteurs, le Gabon continue son inlassable trajectoire vers la normalisation autoritaire de l’entourloupe électorale. Tout l’appareil électoral déjà établi ou en gestation dans le pays obéit à la logique de la normalisation autoritaire de la monarchie Bongo.

 

Le scrutin pour le troisième mandat d’Ali Bongo ou le premier de son fils, sera organisé en dépit des signes évidents dans la société Gabonaise, du rejet d’un pouvoir kleptocrate. Plus problématique encore, cette élection se tiendra au moment même où le mouvement social a atteint une étape critique, celle de la faillite du système de gouvernance Bongo.

 

Le Gabon est l’un des rares pays au monde où on nous fait croire qu’un peuple qui conteste le pouvoir en place et son système de prédation, continue avec enthousiasme de voter pour ce régime qui le torture.

 

Quand on écoute les électoralistes de tous poils, selon toute vraisemblance et en vertu de la realpolitik gabonaise, la victoire sur les Bongo, dans les conditions électorales actuelles relève de la rêverie.
