The Qatar Investment
Authority (QIA) is the sovereign wealth fund of the State of Qatar. It is the
tenth richest sovereign fund in the world, worth $475,000,000,000 or about
285000 billion CFAF.
In the UK, QAI owns
Harrods, 20% of Heathrow airport, and 25% of British Airways, Canary Wharf,
HSBC Tower and The Shard. It also owns 7% stake in the London Stock Exchange.
The Gabonese Sovereign
Wealth Fund, FGIS, is supposed to be invested in a total of 83 companies. But
the details of what this fund owns and how much is this fund worth are impossible
to find.
The transition authority
must make thus FGIS fund very transparent so the Gabonese people would know
what is going on with this fund.
