In Gabon, Gagan Gupta, the boss of Olam-Arise-Gsez etc., is caught between the hammer of the transition and the anvil of their deals with the Bongo-Valentins.

 

On Friday, September 30, 2023, Gagan Gupta was summoned to the presidency by Brice-Clotaire Oligui-Nguema, to discuss the future of Gagan Gupta's activities in Gabon.

 

The press tells us that Gagan Gupta's private jet had been grounded at Libreville airport by the transition’s authorities and that Gagan Gupta had been banned from leaving the country. Gupta had arrived in Libreville on September 18 and was hoping to negotiate with the transition’s authorities for the security of Arise's interests in Gabon.

 

Immediately after the seizure of power by the CTRI, Gabonese counter-intelligence and military security agents began to scrutinize the agreements between the deposed Bongo-Valentins and the Gupta camp. It should be recalled that Noureddin Bongo-Valentin had started his professional career in Gabon as an employee of Gagan Gupta and Olam Gabon, and that several Olam/Arise employees followed Noureddin Bongo-Valentin to the presidential palace when he became Coordinator of Presidential Affairs in 2019.

 

Some indiscretions indicate that Oligui-Nguema would have requested that the arrangements between Arise and the Bongo-Valentins be purely and simply cancelled and replaced by new accords to be put in place.

Au Gabon, Gagan Gupta, le patron d’Olam-Arise-Gsez etc., est pris entre le marteau de la transition et l’enclume de ses deals avec les Bongo-Valentin.

 

Le vendredi 30 septembre 2023, Gagan Gupta était convoqué à la présidence par Brice-Clotaire Oligui-Nguema, pour discuter du futur des activités de Gagan Gupta au Gabon.

 

La presse nous signale que le jet privé de Gagan Gupta avait été cloué au sol a l’aeroport de Libreville, par les autorités de la transition et que Gagan Gupta avait été interdit de quitter le territoire. Gupta était arrivé à Libreville le 18 septembre et espérait négocier avec les autorités de la transition, la sécurité des intérêts d’Arise au Gabon.

 

Immédiatement après la prise du pouvoir par le CTRI, les agents des contre-ingérences et de la sécurité militaire gabonais, ont commencé à éplucher les accords entre les Bongo-Valentin déchus, et le camp Gupta. Il convient de rappeler que Noureddin Bongo-Valentin avait commencé sa carrière professionnelle au Gabon comme employé de Gagan Gupta et Olam Gabon, et que plusieurs employés d'Olam/Arise ont suivi Noureddin Bongo-Valentin au palais présidentiel quand il est devenu coordonnateur des affaires présidentielles en 2019.

 

Certaines indiscrétions font savoir qu’Oligui-Nguema aurait demandé que les arrangements entre Arise et les Bongo-Valentins soient purement et simplement annulés et remplaces par de nouveaux accords à mettre en place.
