The contrast between the official communication of the presidency of the republic and reality is striking. The impoverishment of the people is inversely proportional to the triumphalism of the ruling class.

It is the perfect illustration of the gap between the short-term political narrative and the structural reality experienced by the populations.

The official argument is indeed faced with a wall of factual data:

The presidential spokesman’s statement announces that the country is « in full swing of progress ». However, an objective observation of the situation in Gabon shows us that the conditions in the country have not changed and that they have even deteriorated.

Presidential communication highlights educational initiatives as a pillar of a « solid future ». The numerical reality is much darker because the teachers’ strike proves that the state’s efforts in education remain very insufficient, and that the situation of teachers is now very, very, very degraded.

Presenting land security as a recorded success is particularly bold in view of the reality on the ground. If it were a given, the populations would not demand an improvement of the land access with so much force.

In summary, this communication seems to sell a very optimistic scenario today, while factual data show that Gabon is currently struggling in the early days of darker situations.

Le contraste entre la communication officielle de la présidence de la république et la réalité est saisissante. La paupérisation du peuple est inversement proportionnelle au triomphalisme de la classe dirigeante.

C'est l'illustration parfaite du décalage entre le narratif politique de court terme et la réalité structurelle vécue par les populations.

L’argumentaire officiel se heurte en effet à un mur de données factuelles :

La déclaration du porte-parole de la présidence annonce que le pays est « en pleine dynamique de progrès ». Or, une observation objective de la situation du Gabon nous montre que la condition du pays n'a pas évolué et qu'elle s'est même plutôt dégradée.

La communication présidentielle met en avant des initiatives éducatives comme pilier d'un « avenir solide ». La réalité chiffrée est beaucoup plus sombre car la grève des enseignants prouve que les efforts de l'État en matière d'éducation restent très insuffisants, et que la situation des enseignants est désormais très très dégradée.

Présenter la sécurisation foncière comme une réussite actée est particulièrement audacieux au regard de la réalité sur le terrain.  Si c'était un acquis, les populations réclameraient pas une amélioration du foncier avec autant de force.

En résumé, cette communication semble vendre aujourd'hui un scénario très optimiste, alors que les données factuelles montrent que le Gabon se débat actuellement dans les prémices des situations plus sombres.
