IN THE BONGOS’ KINGDOM, FOOLISHNESS IS ON THE THRONE? AU ROYAUME DES BONGO, LA BÊTISE EST SUR LE TRÔNE

English version

The image above is of a communiqué that recently appeared on the Twitter account of the President of the Republic of Gabon, announcing that Ali Bongo was going on an "official visit" to Franceville in Haut-Ogooué. Dear readers, that province is still part of Gabon; it has not yet been annexed by the Congo.

The President of the Gabonese Republic may not know this, but in diplomatic and protocol language, a head of state only goes on an official visit on invitation from another head of state or government, in their countries for bilateral meetings, for work sessions, or for symbolic events. An official visit typically includes an official welcoming ceremony with execution of the national anthems, military honors, one or more meetings and an official dinner hosted by the head of the host State.

In view of the statement above, it would be interesting for us to know what was the protocol that the Presidency had planned for this official visit by a head of state within his own country; something which would otherwise be a world first.

This message from the Presidency on Twitter is unfortunately an illustration of the inadmissible mediocrity that sits at the top of the state. In fact, in all areas in Gabon, mediocrity reigns today. In today’s Gabon, we raise the mediocre and spit on the talented. In today’s Gabon, hedonism is the norm and effort is to be rejected. But dear readers, the worst of mediocrity, is the total lack of conscience by those decision makers who every day that God makes, render this mediocrity even more metastatic.

It is in this dumbed down Gabon, that absurd entertainment takes the place of spirituality. It is in this Gabon that the people no longer want to do the minimum for their own liberation; looking with indifference at the lies which are served to them, and turning away with detachment from the lights of the truth. In this Gabon, it seems, there are no longer people strong enough to get us out of the caves!
