As another sign of Gabon's oil decline, we already know that French major Total is becoming more and more discreet in Gabon. It has been a long time since this company stopped investing in Gabon and at this moment, the relationship between this company and its employees is deteriorating.

But strangely, Africa Energy Intelligence informs us that Total has started discussions with Equatorial Guinea for the acquisition of two blocks of offshore exploration.

But these negotiations have come up against the legal problems that Teodorin Obiang Nguema has, in France and Switzerland, in the ill-gotten gains case in France, which have been confiscated from him. The discussions are purported to drag on because of that case.

When one is Gabonese, they can ask serious questions. Knowing that oil is a sediment whose pockets extend over underground kilometers and knows no boundaries; can we be convinced that Gabonese oil is exhausted while that of Congo-Brazzaville in Pointe-Noire and that of Equatorial Guinea still flow? These two countries located in the north and the south of Gabon, have a relatively good oil health in terms of reserves, but Gabon is already dry. Quand on est Gabonais, on peut se poser de sérieuses questions. Sachant que le pétrole est un sédiment dont les poches s’étendent sur des kilomètres souterrains et ne connaissent pas de frontières ; peut-on être convaincu que le pétrole Gabonais soit épuisé alors que celui du Congo-Brazzaville à Pointe-Noire et celui de la Guinée Equatoriale coulent toujours à flot ? Ces deux pays qui situent au nord et au Sud du Gabon ont une bonne sante pétrolière en termes de réserves, mais le Gabon lui est déjà à sec. N’y a-t-il pas là des sérieuses interrogations à formuler ?
