On March 12, 1968, Albert-Bernard Bongo, newly installed President of the Gabonese Republic, announced the creation of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) as a single party. All other parties were dissolved and the Gabonese were members of the PDG by birth. If you breathed the air of Gabon, you were a member of the PDG.

 

Why the one-party system?

 

According to Albert-Bernard Bongo and his French advisers in the Foccart networks, the multi-party system was a factor of disorder and division in Gabonese society. The Gabonese people had to talk to each other again and for that, the PDG was going to be the crucible of this new political, economic and social Eldorado.

 

On April 27, 2024, during the closing plenary of the Inclusive National Dialogue organized by the Oligui-Nguema regime, it was announced that the PDG and the rest of the political parties were suspended from all political activities, until further notice.

 

The reason?

 

The transition of the CTRI needs the Gabonese people to talk to each other and consult with each other; and what could be better than to put any political activity on the back burner because we only talk to each other among Gabonese when we are not doing politics, right?

 

Dear readers, you would have understood that what Oligui is doing to consolidate his power, is only a rehash of what his mentor Omar Albert Bernard Bongo had already served to our parents in 1968.

 

So, we are back to the one-party system. Some Gabonese say this is a good thing. Some people were already saying it in 1968 and we know how that movie ended. Shame on those who encourage this stupidity and iniquitous decision, history will not be kind to them.

Le 12 mars 1968, Albert-Bernard BONGO nouvellement installe Président de la République Gabonaise, annonça la création du Parti Démocratique Gabonais (PDG) comme parti unique. Tous les autres partis étaient dissouts et les Gabonais étaient membres du PDG de naissance. Si vous respiriez l’air du Gabon, vous étiez membre du PDG.

 

Pourquoi le parti unique ?

 

D’après Albert-Bernard Bongo et ses conseillers français des réseaux Foccart, le multipartisme était un facteur de désordre et de division dans la société Gabonaise. Il fallait que les Gabonais se parlent a nouveau et pour cela, le PDG allait être le creuset de ce nouvel eldorado politique, économique et social.

 

Le 27 Avril 2024, lors de plénière de clôture du Dialogue National Inclusif organisé par le régime Oligui-Nguema, il a été annoncé que le PDG et le reste des partis politiques étaient suspendu de toutes activités politiques, jusqu’à nouvel ordre.

 

La raison ?

 

La transition du CTRI a besoin que les Gabonais se parlent et se concertent ; et quoi de mieux que de mettre en veilleuse toute activité politique car on ne se parle entre Gabonais que lorsque qu’on ne fait pas de politique, n’est-ce pas ?

 

Chers lecteurs, vous aurez compris que ce qu’Oligui est train de faire pour assoir son pouvoir, n’est que du réchauffé de ce que son mentor Omar Albert Bernard Bongo avait déjà servi à nos parents en 1968.

 

Nous sommes donc de retour au parti unique. Certains Gabonais disent que c’est une bonne chose. Certains le disaient déjà en 1968 et on connait comment ce film s’est terminé. Honte à ceux qui encouragent cette bêtise et cette décision inique, l’histoire ne sera pas clémente à leur égard.
