ALI BONGO LOOKS TOWARD MOSCOW FOR HIS OIL BUSINESS. ALI BONGO SE TOURNE VERS MOSCOU POUR SES AFFAIRES PÉTROLIÈRES

English version

With the oil sector dangerously on the downturn in Gabon, Ali Bongo is now seeking an alliance with Russia to revive this industry in Gabon.

Gabon Oil Co (GOC) CEO, Arnauld Engandji, who is nothing more than an Ali Bongo’s nominee in this post, is currently seeking to partner with Russian companies, for the restart of operations at the Mboumba site. We remind you that this oil field was returned to Gabon by Total about a year ago.

Arnauld Engandji signed a tentative agreement with Russia's Zarubezhneft at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in that country at the end of May, to carry out a technical study on Mboumba. A team from this oil company is expected to travel to Libreville in June to look at things more closely.

Thanks to this partnership, GOC would like to increase the current production of Mboumba, from 1000 barrels per day, to some 3000 barrels per day.
