IT IS ALBERT ONDO OSSA WHO IS RIGHT; WE ARE LED BY DUNCES! C’EST ALBERT ONDO OSSA QUI A RAISON; NOUS SOMMES DIRIGÉS PAR DES DÉMEURÉS!

English version

In his latest interview on Naja TV, Albert Ondo Ossa asserted that the so-called grassroots communication of CBON and his loyalists was nothing more than an exercise in clownery by people who understand nothing about governance. In the end, the facts prove him right.

Today, even the pages of L'Union provide ammunition for the government's critics, and the state newspaper itself can no longer hide the failures.

  • Communication contradicted by the facts. The DGAPG announced that diesel would be back by Sunday, yet people had to wait until Tuesday. The ministry claims everything is available while the stations are empty.
  • Poorly thought-out measures. The ban on food containers came in the middle of the shortage, before approved jerrycans were available.
  • A spreading crisis. The shortage has moved from diesel to gasoline, and from Libreville to the interior of the country, despite Monday's meeting at the ministry. Makaya's editorial sums up the general mood: water, electricity, fuel, everything seems to be giving way.

  • Long-standing structural causes. Sogara covers only about 45 to 50% of needs, has no hydrocracker and carries an enormous debt. SGEPP has only one dedicated storage tank when at least five are needed. This is the result of decades of underinvestment, predating the transition.
  • Projects do exist. The new refinery in Port-Gentil and the expansion of SGEPP's storage capacity have been announced. It remains to be seen whether they will materialize.

It can therefore be argued, with evidence, that Albert Ondo Ossa's criticisms of the CBON regime are accurate. They look very proud, these Gabonese, without drinking water at home, without electricity, and now without fuel, who nevertheless go and console themselves at the Baie des Rois, dreaming of the little Dubai they were promised.
