A British company called Savannah Energy is bidding to acquire the assets of Assala Energy, which produces about 45,000 barrels of oil per day in Gabon.

 

Under Ali Bongo, these assets had been promised to Pertamina, a subsidiary of Maurel & Prom. Since Brice-Clotaire Oligui-Nguema took power, the Gabon Oil Company (GOC) has officially indicated that it wants to buy back these assets.
