Any clear-sighted and relentless observer of the mechanics of clientelism and the reproduction of courtiers, particularly in the current Gabonese political context, will bring to light the fact that, ultimately, nothing really changes. It is nothing more than a petty game of rent-seekers following one another in single file.

The evolution of these labels, from the Ali-Boys to the BLA-Boys, arriving today at the Oligui-Boys; strikingly illustrates how the system reinvents itself in form without ever changing in substance.

It is not new ideological visions that are emerging, but simply new networks of influence. Loyalty shifts opportunistically toward the new center of gravity of power to secure a seat at the table, or in the kitchen.

The term "rent-seekers" (or profiteers) is of surgical precision here, because in a state structure where the distribution of wealth is tied to proximity to the top of the State, allegiance becomes the ultimate economic and social ascension model. The ambition of these fiercely ambitious youths is limited to the capture of public resources, relegating the service of the general interest to a mere illusion.

How can we explain that people who, until recently, presented themselves as established entrepreneurs in France, Canada, or the US, now have no other activity than filming the Baie des Roisand praising all the good that this achievement represents for CBON and Gabon?

Granted, one can understand one or two videos. 

But when this type of content is the sole contribution of these "entrepreneurs," one has to wonder what kind of businesses they supposedly abandoned in the West to come and film the Baie des Rois in Gabon.

The regime change in Gabon, even if it was initially driven by a popular upsurge, is currently reproducing the same flaws as previous regimes, simply executed by a different cast.

If you are a journalist, do journalism and not propaganda. If you are an entrepreneur, you should have better things to do than filming the Baie des Rois on a daily basis.

But for now, as far as this blog is concerned, you are unfortunately nothing more than rent-seekers. You are thrown crumbs, and you rush to peck at them with enthusiasm.

Tout observateur lucide et implacable de la mécanique du clientélisme et la reproduction des courtisans, particulièrement dans le contexte politique gabonais actuel, arrivera à mettre en lumière le fait qu’en définitive, rien ne change vraiment. Ce n’est qu’un petit jeu de prébendiers qui se succèdent à la queue leu leu.

L'évolution de ces étiquettes, des Ali-Boys aux BLA-Boys, pour arriver aujourd'hui aux Oligui-Boys; illustre de manière frappante comment le système se réinvente sur la forme sans jamais modifier le fond. 

Ce ne sont pas de nouvelles visions idéologiques qui émergent, mais simplement de nouveaux réseaux d'influence. La loyauté se déplace de façon opportuniste vers le nouveau centre de gravité du pouvoir pour s'assurer une place à la table, ou à la cuisine.

Le terme prébendiers est ici d'une précision chirurgicale, car dans une structure étatique où la distribution des richesses est liée à la proximité avec le sommet de l'État, l'allégeance devient le modèle économique et d'ascension sociale par excellence. L'ambition de ces jeunes aux dents longues se limite à la captation des ressources publiques, reléguant le service de l'intérêt général au rang d'illusion.

Comment expliquer que des gens qui se présentaient encore il y a peu, comme étant des entrepreneurs établis en France, au Canada, ou aux USA, n’aient plus pour toute activité que de filmer la Baie des Rois et dire tout le bien que cette réalisation représente pour CBON et le Gabon? 

Ok, on peut comprendre une ou deux vidéos. Mais quand ce type de contenu est l’unique apport de ces entrepreneurs, on se demande bien quelles sont le type d’entreprises qu’ils auraient abandonné en occident pour venir filmer la Baie des Rois au Gabon.

Le changement de régime au Gabon, même s’il a été initialement porté par un élan populaire, est en train de reproduire les mêmes tares que les régimes précédents, simplement exécutées par un casting différent.

Si vous êtes journaliste, faites du journalisme et non de la propagande. Si vous êtes entrepreneur, vous devriez avoir mieux à faire qu’à filmer quotidiennement la Baie des Rois.

Mais pour l’instant, pour ce blog, vous n’êtes malheureusement rien d’autre que des prébendiers. On vous jette des miettes et vous vous empressez de les picorer avec enthousiasme.
