English version

The bridge over the Banio in Gabon, is 522 meters long, built by Sericom Gabon (Santullo Group), at a cost of 86 billion CFA francs (source ANGT). This amounts to 165 million CFA francs per meter.

The Third Mainland Bridge, also known as the Ibrahim Babanguida Bridge, is the longest of three bridges connecting Lagos Island to the mainland, in Nigeria. It measures 11.8 kilometer and is the second longest bridge in Africa, after the 6th October Bridge located in Cairo, which is about 20 kilometers long. This bridge was finished in 1990 at the cost of 122 million pound sterling, or the equivalent of 105 billion CFA francs. The State of Nigeria paid in 1990, 8.9 million CFA francs per meter of that bridge, which is about 19 times less than what Gabon paid per meter of the Banio bridge.

Even considering inflation between 1990 and 2014, a 19 times difference is impossible to explain.

  1. Santullo Group was Magloire NGambia's group, he introduced the group to the system...Santullo came with a simple strategy ---. they built on credit and charged exorbitant rates which were approved by the then Ministers (of course for a fee :) )....
