According to Africa Energy Intelligence, Ali Bongo has decided to take sides with Saudi Arabia in the conflict of influence between that country and its Gulf neighbor, Qatar.

Obviously, never doing anything for nothing, the financial windfall for Ali Bongo would be that the IDB (Islamic Development Bank) controlled by Saudi Arabia, is ready to finance projects in the energy field in Gabon.

Recently in Libreville, the president of this bank, Bandar al-Hajjar, reportedly assured Ali Bongo of his support in the electricity sector. The IDB would finance these projects through the Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund (FGIS) headed by Serge Mickoto, who is also Ali Bongo’s brother-in-law and the treasurer of the Grand Lodge of Gabon.

Through the FGIS, the IDB is expected to partially finance the construction of the Ngoulmendjim (73 MW) and Dibwangui (15 MW) power plants.

Finally, Africa Energy Intelligence also tells us that since 2015, the IDB has already disbursed nearly 500 million dollars in infrastructure projects in Gabon (250 billion CFA francs), under a memorandum of understanding signed with FGIS. Where did this money go? Only Ali Bongo and his brother-in-law Mickoto know!

D’après Africa Energy Intelligence, Ali Bongo aurait décidé de prendre parti pour l’Arabie Saoudite dans le conflit d’influence qui oppose ce pays à son voisin du Golfe, le Qatar.

Evidemment, ne faisant jamais rien pour rien, la retombée financière pour Ali Bongo serait que la BID (Banque Islamique de Développement) que contrôle l’Arabie Saoudite, s’apprêterait à financer des projets dans le domaine de l'énergie au Gabon.

De passage récemment à Libreville, le président de cette banque, Bandar al-Hajjar, aurait assuré Ali Bongo de son soutien dans le secteur de l'électricité. La BID financerait ces projets par le truchement du Fonds Gabonais d'Investissements Stratégiques (FGIS) que dirige Serge Mickoto, qui est aussi le beau-frère d'Ali Bongo et le trésorier de la Grande loge du Gabon.

Par le truchement du FGIS, la BID devrait financer en partie la construction des centrales de Ngoulmendjim (73 MW) et de Dibwangui (15 MW).

Finalement, Africa Energy Intelligence nous apprend aussi que depuis 2015, la BID a déjà déboursé près de 500 millions de dollars dans des projets d'infrastructures au Gabon (soit 250 milliards de francs CFA), dans le cadre d'un protocole d'accord signé avec le FGIS. Où est passé cet argent ? Seuls Ali Bongo et son beau-frère Mickoto savent !
