According to La Lettre du Continent, the conflit for about 165 billion CFA francs between Ali Bongo and Guido Santullo was examined by three judges of the ICC in Paris.

The three judges, Sébastien Besson, Charles Jarrosson and Barton Legum, examined the invoices of eleven contracts. But in the end, they validated only seven. These arbitrators declared themselves able to judge these contracts representing CFAF 111.3 billion in cumulative value.

Gabon has already conducted multiple investigations to determine whether Guido Santullo bribed government officials who validated his contracts. These suspicions were raised several times during arbitration hearings by Gabon lawyers, KGA lawyers and Linklaters. La Lettre du Continent believes that if the final sentence is too unfavorable to Ali Bongo, he could open a new front accusing Guido Santullo of corruption.

The final sentence, which should condemn Gabon to pay a final bill, is expected before the end of the year.

Les 3 juges, Sébastien Besson, Charles Jarrosson et Barton Legum, examinaient les factures de onze chantiers. Mais au final, ils n’en ont validé que sept. Ces arbitres se sont déclarés aptes à juger ces marchés représentant 111,3 milliards F CFA en valeur cumulée.

Le Gabon a déjà diligenté de multiples enquêtes pour déterminer si Guido Santullo avait corrompu les fonctionnaires chargés de valider ses contrats. Ces soupçons ont été évoqués à plusieurs reprises lors des audiences d'arbitrage par les avocats du Gabon, les cabinets KGA Avocats et Linklaters. La Lettre du Continent pense que si la sentence définitive est trop défavorable à Ali Bongo, il pourrait ouvrir un nouveau front en accusant Guido Santullo de corruption.

La sentence finale, qui devrait condamner le Gabon à s'acquitter d'une facture définitive, est attendue avant la fin de l'année.
