The title of this post comes from a quote by Edmund Burke, the Irish writer and statesman. What does this quote mean:

Edmund Burke suggested by this quote that people of good character should oppose and actively resist evil and tyranny. If they simply ignored the forces of evil, and worse, if they joined these forces, then evil would grow and spread. In the end, evil would become so powerful that it would triumph over good.

In Gabon it is clear to everyone that the Bongo regime is a disaster. But among the Gabonese who know that this regime is execrable, relatively few oppose and actively resist it. Worse, some who opposed it even find a way to become turncoats by declaring themselves neutral or "scientific" to justify their rapprochement with the regime.

At this rate, the perverse movement of Gabon's cooptation by the Bongos would become more and more powerful to the point where if we are not careful, there would be no possibility of resistance, because stoogery would become State religion.

When a wicked regime tries to stay in power through the negation of the truth of the ballot box and the murder of the refractory, it is not only those who join the regime that help it succeed; it is also those who disapprove but do nothing to stop it.

We will absolutely not give up!

Le titre de ce billet vient d’une citation d’Edmund Burke, l’écrivain et homme d’Etat Irlandais. Que veut dire cette citation :

Edmund Burke suggérait par cette citation, que les gens de bonne moralité devraient s'opposer et résister activement au mal et à la tyrannie. Si elles ignoraient simplement les forces du mal, et pire, si elles se joignaient à ces forces, alors le mal grandirait et se répandrait. Au final, le mal deviendrait si puissant qu'il triompherait du bien.

Au Gabon il est clair pour tout le monde que le régime Bongo est une catastrophe. Mais parmi les Gabonais qui savent que ce régime soit exécrable, relativement peu s'y opposent et y résistent activement. Pire, certains qui s’y sont opposés trouvent même le moyen de retourner leur veste en se déclarant neutres ou « scientifique » pour justifier leur rapprochement avec le régime.

A ce rythme, le mouvement pervers de la cooptation du Gabon par les Bongo deviendrait de plus en plus puissant au point où si nous ne sommes pas prudents, il n'y aurait plus aucune possibilité de résistance, car le larbinisme serait devenu la religion d’Etat.

Quand un régime inique tente de se maintenir au pouvoir par la négation de la vérité des urnes et le meurtre des récalcitrants, ce ne sont pas seulement ceux qui se joignent au régime qui l’aident à réussir; c'est aussi ceux qui désapprouvent, mais ne font rien pour l’arrêter.

On ne lâche absolument rien !
