HAS THE BONGO SYSTEM BECOME IMMORTAL IN GABON? LE SYSTEME BONGO SERAIT-IL DEVENU IMMORTEL AU GABON ?

We are in the middle of 2018. Omar Bongo has been dead for 9 years. But the Gabonese people who had patiently waited for the end of his nightmarish reign of 42 years, unfortunately find that Omar Bongo never died. His immortality is manifested daily by the presence at the head of the country of the heir that was prepared and put in place so that the regime could continue.

We are in the middle of the year 2018 and Ali Bongo is reinforcing the continuation of the regime. We risk to still having to demonstrate our patience for the next fifty years.

No one will dispute the fact that this immortality of the Bongo system is only the convergence of a long process made up of crimes (Germain Mba and Co.), co-optations (all those who since 1967 have gone to change the system from within), complicities (those who have always praised the system while turning a blind eye to the terrible repression used by the same system to stay in power), and naive people who think that the dictator must always be given another chance to redeem himself.

We are in the middle of the year 2018, and people with serious academic backgrounds, still come to tell us that working with the regime is not a bad thing, if it is Gabon that wins! This deeply saddens us and we find this reasoning pusillanimous; for how can one claim to be sincere and respectful of the truth in governance in Gabon, and allow themselves to be embroiled in indecent intellectual and moral accommodations to justify by any means a position of greed and thus defend the indefensible?

The people who have allowed the Bongo regime to become immortal by giving it their support to varying degrees, even if they are not always brutal killers, nevertheless remain accomplices equally criminal, and they are much more dangerous; because it is through them that the effect of uncontrolled contagion of the influence of this regime is realized in Gabonese society.

We will not give up!

Nous sommes au milieu de l’année 2018. Omar Bongo est mort depuis 9 ans déjà. Mais les Gabonais qui avaient patiemment attendu la fin de son règne cauchemardesque de 42 ans, constatent malheureusement qu’Omar Bongo n’est jamais mort. Son immortalité nous est quotidiennement manifestée par la présence à la tête du pays de l’héritier que l’on prépara et mit en place pour qu’évidement le régime continue.

Nous sommes au milieu de l’année 2018 et Ali Bongo est en train de bétonner la suite du régime. Nous risquons encore d’avoir à démontrer notre patience pour les cinquante prochaines années.

Personne ne nous contestera le fait que cette immortalité du système Bongo ne soit que la convergence d’un long processus fait de crimes (Germain Mba et Co.), de cooptations (tous ceux qui depuis 1967 sont allés changer le système de l’intérieur), de complicités (ceux qui depuis toujours chantent les louanges du système en fermant les yeux sur les terribles répressions dont use ce même système pour se maintenir au pouvoir), et de naïfs qui pensent qu’il faille toujours donner une autre chance au dictateur de se racheter.

Nous sommes au milieu de l’année 2018, et des gens aux formations académiques sérieuses, viennent encore nous dire que travailler avec le régime n’est pas une mauvaise chose, si c’est le Gabon qui gagne ! Cela nous désole profondément et nous trouvons ce raisonnement pusillanime ; car, comment peut-on se prévaloir d’être sincère et respectueux de la vérité dans la gouvernance au Gabon, et se laisser entrainer dans des accommodements intellectuels et moraux indécents servant à justifier par tous moyens une position de cupidité et défendre ainsi l’insoutenable ?

Les gens qui ont permis au régime Bongo de devenir immortel en lui apportant à divers degrés leurs soutiens, même s’ils ne sont pas toujours des tueurs brutaux, restent néanmoins des complices tout aussi criminels, et bien plus dangereux car c’est par eux que l’effet d’une contagion non maîtrisée de l’emprise de ce régime se réalise dans la société gabonaise.

On ne lâche rien !
