Pura Vida Energy is an Australian-based oil explorer company that has some concession in Gabon. A standoff is aid to be going on between this company and Ali Bongo.

According to Africa Energy Intelligence, negotiations between Pura Vida Energy and the Gabonese government are said to be bogged down over the request of Pura Vida, which has been trying for several months to convince the Gabonese authorities to start the production sharing contract ( CPP) of the Nkembe block, from the retroactive date of December 4, 2014. This date corresponds to the date of adoption of the presidential decree approving the terms of the CPP. But the DGH prefers the signing of the contract, which dates back to 11 January 2013. The difference between the two dates is estimated to be worth 17 million dollars (8.5 billion CFA francs). The DGH would also reproach Pura Vida for failing to meet its technical obligations by not providing all the required data on Nkembe and by failing to organize technical meetings with the Gabonese authorities.

D’après Africa Energy Intelligence, les négociations s'enliseraient entre Pura Vida Energy et l’Etat gabonais, au sujet de la demande de Pura Vida, qui tente depuis plusieurs mois de convaincre les autorités gabonaises de débuter le contrat de partage de production (CPP) du bloc Nkembe, à partir de la date rétroactive du 4 décembre 2014. Cette date correspond à la date d'adoption du décret présidentiel approuvant les termes du CPP. Mais la DGH préfère celle de la signature dudit contrat qui remonterait au 11 janvier 2013. La différence entre les deux dates est estimée à 17 millions de dollars (8,5 milliards de francs CFA). La DGH reprocherait aussi à Pura Vida d'avoir manqué à ses obligations techniques en ne fournissant pas l'ensemble des données requises sur Nkembe et en omettant d'organiser des réunions techniques avec les autorités Gabonaise.
