THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THOSE WHO HELP THE BONGOS TO SWINDLE THE PEOPLE. LES RESPONSABILITÉS DE CEUX QUI AIDENT LES BONGO À FLOUER LE PEUPLE

Born of the crisis of the democratic impossibility that calcifies the Bongos in power; born of the precariousness of employment making security linked to loyalty to the Bongos; born of the Bongos absolute power who control all politics and the entire economy; the tendency of opposition members to go down in time to prostrate and contradict themselves before the Bongos, is the most shared constant in Gabon.

The Bongos in power overcome the opposition by waiting them out and these opposition members are the first to know this. If one can think that it was necessary that the regime worked hard to overcome Mba Abessole, we must note that the cooptation of Moukagni-Iwangou was obtained without any sweat.

The truth is that some in the opposition are not prepared for the economic embargo imposed on them by the regime. Not everyone can be Luc Bengono-Nsi. There is the family to feed, the children to send to school and more importantly, there is the ambition to be able to say: "I was minister or member of parliament".

It is enough for the Bongos to starve the opposition members and just wait for them to come crawl at their feet. By humiliating them, the Bongos give a constant lesson to the Gabonese people: "your future belongs to us; we will do with you what we decide, whether you like it or not!” Opposition members put a rope around their necks themselves; and this posture is contagious. In the long run, we have created a society that perpetually demonstrates its helplessness, especially because of the inability of the opposition to dislodge the Bongos.

Dear readers, the truth is cruel but we must say it: if nothing of all that we have tried since 1990 to make the Bongo leave, did work; it is largely due to sabotage within the opposition itself. So much so that today the political opposition hardly exists anymore; it has given way to a receptacle of disappointed members of the PDG who come often to wait impatiently for a return to the parents’ home.

These stayers of the regime, even if they are numerically few in the opposition, often have a big influence because of the financial means available to them and constitute a foreign body more or less responsible for the orientations of this opposition and also of its incapacity to fight a sincere and sustained battle against the Bongos.

Dear readers, the responsibility of the members of the opposition is enormous. How many opposition leaders can we consider to be people of their word? How many idealists aim to channel the Gabonese people to change the country?

Instead of a strong opposition, we end up with a grouping that has a wide range of opportunists in its midst.

Dear readers, we have many reasons not to give up because we must save our country from all those people who gangrene it.

Née de la crise de l’impossibilité démocratique qui calcifie les Bongo au pouvoir ; née de la précarité de l’emploi qui fasse que la sécurité soit liée à la fidélité aux Bongo ; née du pouvoir absolu des Bongo qui contrôle tout le politique et toute l’économie ; la tendance des opposants d’aller à termes se prosterner et se renier devant les Bongo, est la constante la mieux partagée au Gabon.

Le pouvoir Bongo vient à bout des opposants à l’usure et ces opposants sont les premiers à le savoir. Si on peut penser qu’il a fallu que le régime rame pour venir à bout de Mba Abessole, force est de constater que la cooptation de Moukagni-Iwangou a été obtenue sans bavure.

La vérité est que les opposants ne sont pas préparés à subir l’embargo économique que leur impose le régime. N’est pas Luc Bengono-Nsi qui veut. Il y a la famille à nourrir, les enfants à envoyer à l’école et plus important, il y a l’ambition de pouvoir dire : « j’ai été ministre ou député ».

Il suffit pour les Bongo, d’affamer les membres de l’opposition et d’attendre simplement que ces derniers viennent ramper à leurs pieds. En les humiliant, les Bongo donnent une leçon en permanence au peuple Gabonais : « votre avenir nous appartient ; nous ferons de vous ce que nous en déciderons, que vous le vouliez ou non ! » Les opposants se mettent eux-mêmes la corde au cou ; et cette posture est contagieuse. A la longue, on a créé une société qui démontre perpétuellement son impuissance, notamment à cause de l’incapacité de l’opposition, à désarçonner les Bongo.

Chers lecteurs, la vérité est cruelle mais nous devons la dire : si rien de tout ce que nous avons tenté depuis 1990 pour faire partir les Bongo, n’a fonctionné ; on le doit très largement au sabotage à l’intérieur de l’opposition elle-même. A tel point qu’aujourd’hui, l’opposition politique n’existe presque plus ; elle a cédé sa place à un réceptacle de déçus du PDG qui viennent souvent y ronger leur frein en attendant simplement un retour dans la maison mère.

Ces rescapés du régime, même s’ils sont numériquement peu nombreux dans l’opposition, ont souvent une grande influence à cause des moyens financiers dont ils disposent et constituent un corps étranger plus ou moins responsable des orientions de cette opposition et aussi de ses incapacités à mener un combat sincère et soutenu contre les Bongo.

Chers lecteurs, la responsabilité des membres de l’opposition est énorme. En effet, combien de leaders de l’opposition pouvons-nous considérer comme étant des gens de parole ? Combien sont des idéalistes ayant pour but de canaliser les Gabonais pour changer le pays ?

Au lieu d’une opposition solide, on se retrouve avec un ensemble ayant en sein un large éventail d’opportunistes.
