HOPEFULLY THE END OF OUR DISCUSSIONS WITH "LA LETTRE DU CONTINENT". ESPERONS QUE CE SOIT LA FIN DE NOS DISCUSSIONS AVEC "LA LETTRE DU CONTINENT"

English version

Dear readers, as you already know, last week we were contacted by the French publication "La Lettre Du Continent" asking us to remove any reference we have put on our blog regarding their publication. We did comply with that request and we thought the case was closed. Then this Monday morning, we were again contacted by a different person from "La Lettre Du Continent", this time accusing us of having made disparaging remarks about them. We were very surprised because we have not made such remarks either on our blog or elsewhere for that matter. However, during the exchange what became clear was the question as to whether or not "La Lettre Du Continent" was afraid of the Gabonese regime. The individual from "La Lettre Du Continent" told us that members of that publication were not afraid of anybody and did not have to receive lessons about courage from us. To show their "courage", this person said that Andre Kieffer who disappeared in the Ivory Coast was once a member of "La Lettre Du Continent"; although we could retort that when he disappeared, he was no longer working for "La Lettre Du Continent". But this is not important.

What is important, dear readers, is that with or without "La Lettre Du Continent", this blog will continue to pursue his objective of providing the Gabonese public with the right information and analyses regarding the kleptocracy that is Gabon. Our daily postings will resume as soon as we can.
