THE GABONESE PEOPLE HAVE FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGED, THOSE WHO PRETEND TO IGNORE THIS WILL REGRET IT. LE PEUPLE GABONAIS A FONDAMENTALEMENT CHANGÉ, CEUX QUI FONT SEMBLANT DE L’IGNORER LE REGRETTERONT

English version

It is now clear that the Gabonese people have changed. If Ali Bongo thinks that he can win the Gabonese people over, despite his defeat in the 2016 presidential election, and the assassinations he organized to establish himself in power, it means that he is dealing with the wrong period and people.

The Gabonese who in the 90s and 2000 were demobilized when opposition leaders joined the Bongo regime, now stand away from any systematic commitment to politicians and take an increasingly republican posture that is aligned on what other free people are doing the world over; That is, an opposition based on principles and not on people.

The political environment of Gabon is changing, as blindly following disappears in favor of positions analyzed and targeted based on the objectives of collective freedom. Since 1990, political events have made the Gabonese people understand that they must change their mind set and stay away from an approach of admiring of men to a search-for-results approach, of which men are only vehicles.

The discourse of the supporters of the old order who say, to coax the people, that it is necessary to join Ali Bongo because the policy of the empty chair does not pay, is no longer adapted to the Gabonese people of today. To present-Maganga Moussavou and Patrick Eyogo-Edzang as individuals who might convince the Gabonese people to accept the Ali Bongo’s regime, is a huge farce in which are engaged those in power. Similarly, distributing money left and right might buy some resisters, but the pluralistic dynamics of the Gabonese people is more than ever drawn towards a deeper and more determined fight.

The mistake of our versatile and opportunistic politicians, is to still not have understood that the Gabonese people have become mature and now refuse that any little buccaneer uses them to get rich by selling themselves to Ali Bongo. The situationists who refuse to fight, who are unable to keep their promises made during their march at the Trocadero, who are unable to put the public good before personal interest, etc., will be swept away by history and by our inevitable victory.

We will not give up!
