The Gabonese of a certain age will certainly remember Doudou Diène, a Senegalese journalist who wrote in L’Union and Gabon Matin, and who reported for the RTG, as well as being a teacher at Leon Mba high school of Libreville. A fan of sports, he was also a football commentator for RTG.

 

Doudou Diène was part of a cohort of Senegalese nationals who were sent to Gabon in 1973-74, to help with teaching in Gabonese high schools.

 

After returning to Senegal, he became a journalist at RTS and then a diplomat in Belgium. He died on Sunday, 27 December 2020 in Paris. He was 77 years old.

Les Gabonais d'un certain âge se souviendront certainement de Doudou Diène, un journaliste Sénégalais qui a écrit dans L'Union et Gabon Matin, et qui a fait des reportages pour la RTG, en plus d'être professeur au lycée Léon Mba de Libreville. Passionné de sport, il était également commentateur de football pour la RTG.

 

Doudou Diène faisait partie d'une cohorte de ressortissants sénégalais qui avaient été envoyés au Gabon en 1973-74, pour aider à l'enseignement dans les lycées Gabonais.

 

De retour au Sénégal, il devient journaliste à la RTS puis diplomate en Belgique. Il est décédé le dimanche 27 décembre 2020 à Paris. Il avait 77 ans.
