His name is
Adewale Adeyemo
He was
born in Nigeria in 1981 and his family emigrated to the United States when he
was a baby and settled in Southern California outside Los Angeles. His father
was a teacher, his mother a nurse.
He is an
economic expert and a lawyer. He went to high school in Los Angeles, then to
the University of California at Berkeley; before earning a Doctor of Law degree
at Yale University.
Mr.
Adeyemo will become be part of a history-making duo at the Treasury department:
He would be the first Black deputy at the Treasury, serving with the first
female secretary, Janet L. Yellen.

Nigeria en 1981 et sa famille a émigré aux États-Unis quand il était bébé et
s'est installée dans le sud de la Californie, près de Los Angeles. Son père
était enseignant, sa mère infirmière.
Il est expert en économie
et avocat. Il est allé au lycée à Los Angeles, puis à l'Université de

partie d'un duo historique au département du Trésor : il sera le premier Secrétaire
d’Etat Adjoint noir au Trésor (l’équivalent de ministre délégué), servant avec la
