WILL THE NATIONAL UNION BECOME THE FIRST TRULY REPUBLICAN GABONESE POLITICAL PARTY? L’UNION NATIONALE VA-T-ELLE DEVENIR LA PREMIERE FORMATION POLITIQUE GABONAISE VERITABLEMENT REPUBLICAINE ?

In the Gabonese political system, the organized and structured opposition remains subject to the blockages inherited by the omniscience of the ruling dictatorship, which cause all the opposition parties to end up operating on the model of the PDG in Power; and that's a shame !

 

The National Union, a major opposition party, is meeting in a congress in Libreville. One of the most important aspects of this congress will be the election of its new president, replacing Zachary Myboto who has just announced his political retirement.

 

This blog welcomes this development, because the National Union here has the opportunity to become the first Gabonese political party that would move away from a life presidency to fully enter republicanism.

 

Gabon needs political parties that are republicans, which resolutely move away from the cult of personality and allow plural and dynamic political activity. Republican political activity would unleash the energies of the Gabonese people through private and public newspapers that will have better content and move away from backyard partisanship. On the ground, the political debates will be more intelligent and intensely contradictory and will really make it possible to take the pulse of the streets and of the people.

 

This blog would like to encourage the National Union to avoid falling into the trap of the failed political transition by wanting to maintain schemes without a future. It is time to depersonalize political parties and the National Union can lead the way in Gabon. The president of a political party should be at the service of the party, not the other way around. A succession which would see a member of the Myboto family succeed him, would have dynastic overtones which would be too reminiscent of the method of the Bongos’ PDG.

Dans le système politique Gabonais, l’opposition organisée et structurée demeure soumise aux blocages hérités par l’omniscience de la dictature au pouvoir, qui font que tous les partis d’opposition finissent par fonctionner sur le modèle du PDG au Pouvoir ; et c’est dommage !

 

L’Union Nationale, un important parti d’opposition, se réunit en congrès à Libreville. L’un des aspects les plus importants de ce congrès sera l’élection de son nouveau président, en remplacement de Zachary Myboto qui vient d’annoncer sa retraite politique.

 

Ce blog salue ce développement, car l’Union nationale a ici l’opportunité de devenir le premier parti politique Gabonais qui se démarquerait d’une présidence à vie pour entrer pleinement dans le républicanisme.

 

Le Gabon a besoin de partis politiques républicains, qui s’éloignent résolument du culte de la personnalité et permettent une activité politique plurielle et dynamique. Une activité politique républicaine permettrait de libérer les énergies des gabonais grâce à des journaux privés et publics qui auront un meilleur contenu et s’éloigneront de la partisannerie de basse-cour. Sur le terrain, les débats politiques seront plus intelligents et intensément contradictoires et permettront véritablement de prendre le pouls de la rue et du peuple.

 

Ce blog voudrait ici encourager l’Union Nationale à éviter de tomber dans la trappe de la transition politique ratée en voulant maintenir des schémas sans lendemain. Il est temps de dépersonnaliser les partis politiques et l’Union Nationale peut montrer la voie au Gabon. Le président d’un parti politique devrait être au service du parti et non l’inverse. Une succession qui verrait un membre de la famille Myboto succéder au premier du nom, aurait des relents dynastiques qui rappelleraient trop les méthodes du PDG des Bongo.
